Abstract

Pregnant women who develop preeclampsia in the second trimester will probably recover once the baby is delivered, but the baby probably will not survive. In a study of 39 women, all of the women recovered after delivery, but only four babies survived and all had severe handicaps. Preeclampsia is a complication of pregnancy.
