Abstract

Testing all pregnant women for group B streptococcal infection will prevent more streptococcal infections in their babies than a risk-based approach, according to a study of 629,912 live births. This is the so-called screening approach, whereas the risk-based approach tries to predict which women might be infected based on their risk factors.
