Tissue localization of the endosymbiotic bacterium 'Candidatus Blochmannia floridanus' in adults and larvae of the carpenter ant Camponotus floridanus

Research has been conducted on the bacteria fate during the life span of their host animals. The study of the bacterial distribution in tissues of adult ants and during larvae development carried out via the use of light and electron microscopy and in situ hybridization techniques is presented.
