Abstract

Results reveal that the DNA serves as an allosteric ligand promoting the dimerization of MyoD, myogenin, and E12 as shown by fluorescence anisotropy assays. The heterodimers mediate transcriptional regulation. Research demonstrates that preferential heterodimerization of the myogenic regulatory factors possessing an E-protein drive muscle-specific gene expression during myogenesis.
