Comparative models for human apolipoprotein A-1 bound to lipid in discoidal high-density lipoprotein particles

The models for the binding of apolipoprotein-1 to discoidal high-density lipoprotein particles are reviewed using the fluorescence resonance energy transfer along with the proteolysis data. The belt or hairpin models are preferred over the picket fence model for particles of 105 angstrom diameter.
