Research demonstrates the use of the title compound for monitoring DNA condensation. Results show that the condensation by either polyethylenimine or cetyltrimethylammonium bromide results in freezing the segmental mobility of the helix, whereas by Co(NH(sub)3)(sub)6(sup)3+ increases the DNA flexibility.
