Influences of preclinical dementia and impending death on the magnitude of age-related cognitive deficits

Research shows that there is a general decline in cognitive performance during aging especially in those who are older or near death and prone for dementia. Furthermore, the fact that elimination of the latter group does not change the picture much suggests that the aging process uniformally exerts negative functioning.
