Abstract
- Research reveals that five bacterial isolates from fuel-contaminated Antarctic soils are capable of fixing nitrogen heterotrophically and nonsymbiotically. Data show that two isolates grow using jet fuel vapors and volatile hydrocarbons in nitrogen medium.
