Abstract

This blue rectangular flag served as the regimental colors of the 122nd Ohio Volunteer Infantry. The United States arms is painted in the flag's center. The arms consists of a bald eagle holding a bundle of arrows in his left talon and an olive branch in his right. In the eagle's beak is a scroll with the motto "E Pluribus Unum," and on his chest is a shield with red and white stripes. 35 gold painted stars are arranged in two arcs above the arms. A red painted scroll, outlined in gold, with no writing, is below the arms. The flag has gold-knotted fringe 4.5 cm in length
