Abstract
- This report presents the results of a study to establish parametric cost estimating relationships (CER's) for reliability and maintainability program tasks or groups of tasks; and to investigate the feasibility of determining cost-benefit indices. The specific tasks are defined in MIL-STD-785 and MIL-STD-470. The CER's were developed using multiple linear regression analysis (MLR) based on data from 23 projects of varying size and complexity. The cost-benefit investigation determined that the MLR techniques were also applicable to developing models for estimating MTBF gain as a measure of benefit.
