Abstract
- Since the mid-20th century, woodcarving has become a popular craft on the Qualla Boundary. Animals are a particular favorite motif. This lifelike snake, carved from wood, was made by Phillip Eugene Powell, a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.
