Abstract
- Shell is made of dark, polished brass that is discolored in places. A shield-shaped section of the shell has been hatched to reveal two embossed and engraved branches. One branch has oak leaves and acorns, and the other has unidentified leaves and berries. "1914" is inscribed at the top of the shield, with "CH. - THIERRY" in the middle and "1918" at the bottom. The additional inscription "AU" is small and placed above the hyphen ("-") in the aforementioned inscription, so that the intended word order is unclear.
