Los negocios en tierras valencianas de Miguel de Múzquiz y Goyeneche: Secretario de Estado de Hacienda en el reinado de Carlos III

La figura de Miguel de Múzquiz –personaje que tuvo una transcendental participación en la administración de España en las postrimerías del Antiguo Régimen y que ocupó, entre otros cargos, la Secretaría de Estado de Hacienda entre 1766 y 1785, año en que falleció, lo que le convierte en el ministro que más años ha permanecido al frente de una cartera–, entendemos que no ha recibido el debido reconocimiento por la historia. No obstante, en este artículo, al margen de ofrecer algún apunte bibliográfico, sobre todo queremos dar a conocer un aspecto mucho menos destacado de su actividad, como son sus importantes intereses económicos en tierras valencianas.
The figure of Miguel de Múzquiz –a character who had a transcendental participation in the administration of Spain at the end of the Old Regime and who held, among other positions, the Secretary of State for Finance between 1766 and 1785, the year in which he died, which makes him the minister who has spent most time in charge of a portfolio– we understand that he has not received due recognition by history. However, in this article, apart from offering some bibliographical notes, we especially want to make known a much less prominent aspect of his activity, such as his important economic interests in Valencian lands.
