Tradition och undervisning : Tankar om litteraturundervisning, historieskrivning och kulturell reproduktion

This report discusses ways to look upon teaching of literature as a social and cultural transmission of (1) a literary canon and (2) certain ways to 'handle' literature and give it meaning. This mainly theoretical discussion is concluded with an account of the historical background of teaching of literature in Sweden, and a description of how a poem of Viktor Rydberg has been interpreted in educational contexts in the period 1900-1970.
