Abstract

The general aim of this report has been to review the intemational research in the fields of the empirical study of literature and other fields of relevance to the teaching of literature. The theoretical frame of reference reflects the social-constructivist orientations of A. Schutz and P. L. Berger & T. Luckmann and the similar theories of S. Fish and D. Bleich. The report deals with the development of literary interpretive and evaluative ability, reading interests, reading motivation, and literary awareness.
