Abstract

Generally, the natural dyes are obtained from natural sources without any chemical processing. Every plant can be used to make a dye. The most common plant parts are used for dye preparation by the way of extracting method, accordingly Stem, Bark, Roots, Flowers, Leaves are used it. Now a days the natural dyes are in demand not only in textile industry, even also demand in pharmaceutical industry, food industry etc., In spite of, there was a demand for natural sources that would be used for medical purpose and its bio-degradable nature. So that the natural sources are eco-friendly. The natural dyes are non-toxic to human and also free from carcinogenic components. The natural dyes are used as Anti-oxidant, Anti-microbial, Anti-fungal properties. Normally the natural dyes have poor color fastness, so we used to mordant as dye fixing agent for good color fastness.
