Abstract

Childhood represents an essential stage of life for the future development of the human being, since it is here where the individual begins to build their identity and their values, therefore, the participation of parents is essential to ensure their quality of life, without However, with the development of society and with it the demand for the involvement of both parents in the workplace, the time spent on care is minimal. The main objective of the investigative work was: To know the social reality of the care that retail merchant parents provide to their sons and daughters under 12 years of age, from the central market of Sígsig, aimed at promoting and protecting the rights of children. The method that guided the study was descriptive with a quantitative approach, its data collection technique was the survey, applied to the entire population of minority merchants of the Sígsig canton, the results were tabulated by the statistical program SPSS version 18, a Through which important variables in the care of children were analyzed, such as: socioeconomic and health situation, recreation time, fulfillment and monitoring of school tasks, safety, among others. The results revealed that most of them have chosen to take their children to the workplace, because they do not have support networks for their care as well as institutional support, therefore, it is necessary to have a Center of Care where it is also supported by professional accompaniment to guarantee that children live in a harmonious and safe environment while their parents work. Therefore, a Proposal was designed to meet this need
