Abstract

A black-and-white photo of the Sternberg party's scow on the Red Deer River in Alberta, Canada. In the foreground are a scow with a small rowboat tethered to it and drifting on the river. A small motorboat is right up against the grassy riverbank. A plank of wood is in the motorboat and hanging over the back end. The boat also has a small flagpole and flag at the back. The scow is farther into the river and a man is standing at its edge. A tent is covering the scow, and it has a flagpole with a flag at the front and back. At the front of the scow is a raft on which two men are standing. Tethered to this raft is the small rowboat.
