Conocimiento, lenguaje persuasivo y sociedad en Giambattista Vico y Adam Smith

En este trabajo intentaremos mostrar que Giambattista Vico y Adam Smith, representantes de lailustración napolitana y la ilustración escocesa respectivamente, comparten ciertas nociones gnoseológico-antropológicas mediante las que se apartan del racionalismo more cartesiano. En particular, nos centraremos en su revalorización de las facultades del ingenio y la imaginación para el conocimiento. Sostendremos, que tal revalorización es fundamental para entender sus concepciones acerca de la acción humana en sociedad, su comprensión científico-filosófica y su perfeccionamiento práctico.
In this paper we attempt to show that Giambattista Vico and Adam Smith, representatives of theneapolitan and the scottish enlightenments respectively, share certain epistemological-anthropological notions, by which they move away from Rationalism more cartesiano. Particularly, we will focus on their revaluation of the faculties of ingenuity and imagination required to obtain knowledge. We argue that such revaluation is essential in order to understanding their conceptions of human action in society, its scientific and philosophical understanding of society, and its practical improvement.
