Optimización de la estructura de la cubierta de un edificio de grandes luces resuelta con mallas espaciales de acero.

[ES] El objetivo de este trabajo es el de mejorar una estructura reduciendo su coste material, económico y medioambiental. En este caso se optimizará un pórtico tipo del Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts de Norman Foster, inaugurado en 1978 y situado en Norwich, Inglaterra. En primer lugar, se aportará información sobre el arquitecto, el ingeniero y el edificio en sí, así como de su estructura para posteriormente realizar el proceso de optimización que llevará al resultado final. Con la ayuda del programa de cálculo estructural Architrave y la web de optimización VTAM, se analizarán distintas configuraciones del pórtico tipo para conseguir modelos que requieran menos cantidad de material. Este proceso se irá afinando hasta conseguir una solución que se admitirá como definitiva
