Abstract

Mining is Namibia's largest industry, accounting for 22% of the country's gross domestic product in 1991. A review is presented of Namibia's mineral endowment. This covers diamonds, base metals, uranium, gold, tin, tungsten, tantalum, columbium, lithium, beryllium, caesium, graphite, fluorspar, wollastonite, dimension stone, semi-precious stones and hydrocarbons.<br />Mining is Namibia's largest industry, accounting for 22% of the country's gross domestic product in 1991.
