Computer emulation of movement of individual particles in a centrifugal mill.

Abstract

As the movement of grinding media in a centrifugal mill is very complicated, it is difficult to use conventional analytical methods to determine the laws which govern it. Experiment and observation were used as a basis for establishing mathematical models for a centrifugal mill's cylinder and individual media. When the movement process was simulated by a computer, the results were consistent with observations by a high-speed camera.<br />As the movement of grinding media in a centrifugal mill is very complicated, it is difficult to use conventional analytical methods to determine the laws which govern it.
