Abstract
- Studies have been carried out of the removal of CO2 from flue gas in a four stage counter current gas-solid fluidised bed reactor using activated carbon (prepared from green coconut shells) with monoethanolamine (MEA) impregnation ratios of 0.2, 0.4, and 0.6. The effects of differing solids flow rate, gas velocity, and weir height on CO2 recovery were ascertained. The best CO2 recovery (94.9%) was achieved for the 0.6 MEA-AC with a solid flow rate of 4.12 kg/h, superficial gas velocity of 0.188 m/s and weir height of 50 mm.<br />Studies have been carried out of the removal of CO2 from flue gas in a four stage counter current gas-solid fluidised bed reactor using activated carbon (prepared from green coconut shells) with monoethanolamine (MEA) impregnation ratios of 0.2, 0.4, and 0.6.
