(p. 1). President Charles T. Thrift, Jr., presents a plaque to Earl D. Smith in recognition of his 18 years' service as a chemistry professor as Dr. Thomas M. Willard, head of the chemistry department, looks on. The plaque is gift of FSC student members of the American Chemical Society. Prof. Smith plans to retire in December. (p. 3). A quick throw and Southern catcher Bob D'Angio braces himself as he applies the tag to prevent a Stetson runner from scoring. (p. 5).<br />1-6
