Abstract

People with hearing disabilities, during the confinement caused by Covid-19 pandemic, were adapted to a new lifestyle, introducing biosecurity measures in the practice of physical activity (A.F.) as an option of benefit and protection (Huete García, 2020); The main purpose of this research was to evaluate the relationship between physical activity and mood in people with hearing disabilities who train tennis at the Cross Tennis Academy in the city of Cuenca-Ecuador, applying a study of observational type of longitudinal cut, correlational, carrying out the IPAQ-L battery, measuring with this test the level of A.F. and the POMS test identifying mood, with its respective factors: tension, hostility, vigor, depression, fatigue and confusion (McNair et al., 1971); before and after sports practice. In the data collection, a casual sampling was carried out to tennis players with mild, moderate and severe hearing loss of the mentioned academy, obtaining a population of 10 athletes, aged between 19-26 years, for data analysis the basis of the statistical software SPSS version 25 and Excel, is the tool that allowed to enter the results of the test and retest, for their respective interpretation and comparison. The results shows that there is a positive relationship despite not observing major changes between the test and retest of the POMS battery, but considering the negative factors of the pandemic, it is concluded that the practice of moderate-high physical activity in pandemic helps to maintain and not decrease the levels of total mood Disorder (TMD), avoiding the total decline of mental and psychological health.
