Abstract
- Wanda Williams was born and grew up in Guilford County and Greensboro, North Carolina. She graduated from Grimsley High School in 1979. In this interview, Ms. Williams discusses working at UNCG, where she had worked since 1991-92 as a housekeeper in Jackson Library. Ms. Williams discusses her normal job duties before the COVID pandemic, where she worked 4:45am-1:30pm in the library. Ms. Williams also worked another job for Guilford County Schools part-time, after her shift at UNCG. Ms. Williams discusses changes she's seen in the library over her career and also discusses what her work was like during the COVID pandemic, as well as her personal recollections during the pandemic. To conclude the interview, Ms. Williams discusses what UNCG means to her and where she sees it going in the future. At the time of this interview, Ms. Williams was just a couple of weeks away from her retirement.
