Abstract

In 2014, the Conservation Agreement Strategy for Graham's beardtongue (Penstemon grahamii) and White River beardtongue (Penstemon albifluvis [=Penstemon scariosus var. albifluvis]) was signed, and included a requirement that a long-term demographic monitoring plan will be developed and implemented (Penstemon Conservation Team [PCT] 2014). Specifically, the Agreement states that the conservation team will develop and implement a scientifically valid monitoring plan to capture range-wide variation in habitat, climate, and population processes.
