NMR based methods for the rapid determination of food thickeners --- Investigations of metabolic pathways during infections with the obligate intracellular pathogen Chlamydia trachomatis using isotopologue profiling

In this work, thickening agents were identified in food products and their premixtures using fast high resolution NMR spectroscopy. Thereby, an improved detection method in food analysis could be developed. Furthermore, metabolic adaptations of human macrophages and fallopian tube cells during an infection with Chlamydia trachomatis were elucidated using NMR spectroscopy and GC-MS.
In der vorliegenden Arbeit wurden Verdickungsmittel in Lebensmitteln und deren Vormischungen mittels schneller hochauflösender NMR-Spektroskopie identifiziert. Dadurch konnte ein verbessertes Nachweisverfahren für die Lebensmittelanalytik erarbeitet werden. Des Weiteren wurden die metabolischen Anpassungen von menschlichen Makrophagen und Eileiterzellen während einer Infektion mit Chlamydia trachomatis mittels NMR-Spektroskopie und GC-MS aufgeklärt.
