Abstract
- This artistic proposal is oriented towards the understanding of the nautical metaphor and its connection with coloniality through visual art and its close relationship with poetry. In order to identify, question and confront the exercises of colonial power based on the interpretation of the essay "Shipwreck with Spectator" (1979) by Hans Blumenberg, examining the correlation proposed by the author between shipwreck and prosperity, formulating a parallelism between maritime travels and coloniality, in order to understand them as violent conversions towards new identities, sinking and non-absent pasts that become the colonial-capitalist system. To this end, a methodology is proposed that uses the remains of this shipwreck, abandoning the sense of individuality in artistic endeavors and interpellating the spectators to turn them into agents of the sinking of coloniality, implying their emancipation and the revelation of poetic exercises as agents of resistance.
