Abstract

© 2005 COPYRIGHT SPIE--The International Society for Optical Engineering.<br />A systematic procedure for calculating the general transfer function of a cascaded linear optical system working under the Fresnel regime is presented. The validity of neglecting the quadratic phase factors is also discussed.
