Abstract

Data presented in this survey are in the form of tables and indicate the hospital manpower situation in New York State in May 1969. A total of 330,959 persons were employed, 65 0/0 in health professional and technical occupations. An additional 25,720 fulltime employees were needed. The categories showing the greatest percents of vacant budgeted positions were occupational therapists, physical therapists, licensed dental hygienists, and social workers. The only category showing no vacant budgeted positions was dental laboratory technicians. Data are shown by the total New York State and geographic areas within the state. These include New York City, New York State exclusive of New York City, and each county in the state. (MS)
