Higher Education in Poland Part I: Organization and Administration.

This document provides basic information on the Polish system of higher education. Following background information on the elementary-secondary system, various facets of the higher education are discussed. Emphasis is placed on the higher education system, expenditures, the Ministry of Higher Education, and the higher school. The higher school is discussed in relation to the rector, the senate, the dean, the faculty council, and the teaching staff. The appendix includes a listing of Polish institutions of higher education and an itinerary of the authors' visits to Poland. An 11-item bibliography is included. Related document is HE 004 569. (MJM)
