Abstract

The contents of this working paper comprise a series of journal articles focusing on nutrition and special groups. Papers relating to those on the aged are entitled: Nutrition and Health of Older People, and Nutrition for the Aged--A Summation. Those on the American Indian discuss nutrition intake and food patterns, contemporary dietary patterns, Indian and Alaska native low income groups, nutrition research and community service, and an economic and social study of nutrition. A single article on the blacks focuses on observations on dietary behavior and nutrition among low income urban Afro-American infants and children. Nutrition and other special groups are discussed in relation to food habits of migrant farm workers, effectiveness of nutrition aides in a migrant population, and nutritional status of children of Mexican American migrant families. Other general articles deal with nutritional status of preschoolers, nutrition and handicapped children, a review of teenage nutrition, and a survey of nutritional studies on preschool children.
