Part 1 of this publication, entitled "New from UNESCO," briefly notes conventions and reports on UNESCO activities within member nations. Part 2, "Bibliographic Services Throughout the World," updates a handbook of the same title published by UNESCO in 1972. Arranged by country, it is further divided into up to six topics: (1) national institutions, (2) professional associations, (3) national bibliography, (4) current bibliographies on special subjects, (5) bibliography and index of periodicals, and (6) interlibrary cooperation. The update covers publications in the period 1970-72. Section 3, "International Information System on Research in Documentation" (ISORID), lists sponsored research projects and research papers in documentation. The final section lists international meetings and national publications of librarians, archivists, and information specialists in the following categories: (1) general information; (2) natural sciences; (3) social sciences, humanities, and culture; and (4) free flow of information and mass media.
