Abstract
- The objective of this project was to establish the Moraine Park Technical Institute as a Career Education Center to coordinate and provide a focus for the career education efforts of the public and private secondary schools in the Moraine Park Vocational, Technical and Adult Education District. The District service area covers several counties in a 2,500 square mile area and serves a population of 220,000. Following an initial conference of representatives from the 27 participating school systems, a questionnaire was presented to each of the schools regarding the status and direction of career education, including budgeted support, inservice training, instructional strategies, articulation, staffing, and perceived needs. In addition, each school was asked to furnish an inventory of career education materials, supplies, and equipment. This report displays the results of the completed questionnaires and a sample of the materials inventory. Recommendations are made for the future dissemination and coordination activities of the project. (BB)
