Coping with the Seventies: Recent and Projected New-Editorial Curricular Changes in Schools of Journalism.

Abstract
- One hundred eleven of 125 schools and departments of journalism surveyed replied to a questionnaire about news/editorial subject areas in which courses had been dropped or added during the past three years and about changes in emphasis in existing courses during the same period. Among the many detailed findings was that the seven subject areas in which new courses have most frequently been added all fall within the professional skills category: news writing and reporting, internships, photojournalism, management, broadcast news, editing and makeup, and magazine editing/production. Detailed findings are reported in a series of tables and in an addendum of comments added by respondents. (AA)
