Abstract

The status of postsecondary allied health and health-related programs in Pennsylvania was studied. Among the data presented are the following: types of awards offered in 1976-77 by program at four-year institutions; the average number of graduates for 1969-73 and the number projected for 1974-78 by program, and 1973 enrollments by sex; programs under development or considerations for development in 1974, anticipated enrollment, and estimated number of graduates per year from 1975-1980; selected American Medical Association approved/accredited hospital education program offered in 1974 by county and total numbers offered by the State and nationwide; estimated employment of selected health personnel in hospitals broken down by bed size and a comparison of the estimate full-time and part-time personnel for 1968 and 1974; nursing home employees in 1974 in selected health occupation; registered nurse programs offered by hospital diploma schools of nursing for 1975; associate degree nursing programs offered in hospitals and public vocational schools in 1974-75; and data on 1970 employment and 1980 projected employment in selected health occupations.
