Abstract

Reading materials by Spanish-speaking Americans, which constitute curricular materials for secondary school and college ethnic studies programs, are presented. The selection includes five stories and a poem in Spanish and an essay and autobiographical narrative in English. The writers of the materials represent the following areas: Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, and Chicano America. For each selection there is a brief introduction in English and a series of topics for discussion. Contributing authors are as follows: Alfredo Collado Martell, Hernando Tellez, Ramon Francisco, Luis Quero Chiesa, Pedro Juan Soto, Eugenio Florit, Enriqueta Vasquez, and Beatrice Griffith. (SW)
