Abstract
- Statistical data on Pennsylvania higher education finance for 1982-1983 are presented. Tables include the following information: current funds revenues by institutional control 1973-1983; percent of current funds revenues by source, 1973-1983; current funds expenditures by institutional control, 1973-1983; percent of current funds expenditures by function, 1973-1983; physical plant asset values by type of asset by institutional category, 1982-1983; indebtedness on physical plant for fiscal year (FY) ending 1983 by institutional category; and changes in endowment funds and fund balances for FY ending 1983 by institutional category. The 1982-1983 data indicate that: current funds revenues increased 13.4 percent since 1981-1982; student tuition and fees represented 32.5 percent of all reported current funds revenues while government appropriations represented 15.7 percent; current funds expenditures increased 13.7 percent since 1981-1982; instruction accounted for 27.4 percent of all reported current funds expenditures; hospitals represented 19.0 percent of all current funds revenues and 19.1 percent of current funds expenditures; indebtedness on physical plant increased 21.4 percent during the FY; and the market value of all endowment funds increased 38.6 percent by the end of the FY.
