Abstract

This document addresses issues of concern to higher education today, namely student success (particularly of underrepresented students) and accreditation and quality assurance. Regarding research and practice in the area of student success, the report discusses strategies that promote persistence, transfer, and completion throughout the K-16 pipeline, within institutions, between colleges, and in student financial aid. Regarding accreditation in higher education, the report addresses its role, history, mechanisms, contexts, and trends. (EV)
