Abstract

Research has identified a host of factors that likely contribute to the disparity in achievement, negating the possibility that a one-size-fits-all answer exists. Therefore, the initiatives highlighted in this issue of "Early Developments" address a variety of approaches. This issue of "Early Developments" includes the following articles: (1) The Achievement Gap: FPG Efforts to Close the Gap (Tracy Zimmerman); (2) Helping Boys of Color Succeed: Promoting Academic Success; (3) Rejecting the Stereotype: Project U-Stars~Plus Assumes "At-Potential"; (4) A Closer Look: Insights into What May Fuel the Gap; (5) Does English-Only Fuel Achievement Gap?; and (6) Acknowledging & Reducing Stigmatization of African American Boys: Raising Awareness, Changing Approaches. Also included in this issue are "Recently Published" and "Recent Grants." [For Volume 11, Number 1 of "Early Developments," see ED496612.]
