Abstract

his document records testimony from a hearing held to examine ccademic freedom under attack when loosening the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP's) grip on America's classrooms. Member statements were presented by: (1) Honorable Aaron Bean, Chairman, Subcommittee on Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education; and (2) Honorable Robert C. Scott Scott, ''Bobby'', Ranking Member, Committee on Education and the Workforce. Witness statements were presented by: (1) Michael Gonzalez, Senior Fellow, The Heritage Foundation; (2) Gisela P. Kusakawa, Executive Director, Asian American Scholar Forum (AASF); (3) Nicole Neily, President, Parents Defending Education; and (4) Ryan Walters, State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Oklahoma State Department of Education. Additional submissions were presented by: (1) Ranking Member Scott: Staff Report from the United States Senate; and (2) Honorable Michelle Steel, a Representative in Congress from the State of California: H.R. 1146 Resolution from the Orange County Board of Education.
