Abstract

Discusses the need to market applied sociology to overcome three problems which impede wider acceptance: the image of sociology, its professional socialization, and its theoretical and methodological breadth. Finds that more effective marketing might occur if applied sociologists considered others' views by taking the role of the other. (GEA)
