Abstract

Argues that most sociology doctoral programs lack a formal course about the profession. Although most graduates are well schooled in sociological theory, many are relatively unprepared for survival in their chosen profession. Suggests that a course on the sociology profession should be included, and discusses topics, resources, and projects to help meet the student's practical needs. (BSR)
