This paper examines the dynamic behavior of a particular category of discrete predator-prey system that feature both fear effect and refuge, using both analytical and numerical methods. The critical coefficients and properties of bifurcating periodic solutions for Flip and Hopf bifurcations are computed using the center manifold theorem and bifurcation theory. Additionally, numerical simulations are employed to illustrate the bifurcation phenomenon and chaos characteristics. The results demonstrate that period-doubling and Hopf bifurcations are two typical routes to generate chaos, as evidenced by the calculation of the maximum Lyapunov exponents near the critical bifurcation points. Finally, a feedback control method is suggested, utilizing feedback of system states and perturbation of feedback parameters, to efficiently manage the bifurcations and chaotic attractors of the discrete predator-prey model. When a subway train runs on a small radius curve, it causes serious side wear of the outer rail, and a large number of the outer rails of the curve are replaced frequently due to excessive side wear. This paper proposes three prediction models based on the response surface methodology (RSM), support vector machine (SVM), and the relative vector machine (RVM) to estimate the remaining useful life (RUL) of a metro outer rail at a small radius curve determined by rail side wear. In these proposed models, the directly measurable parameters, including various track geometries, axle loads, and primary suspension stiffnesses related to vehicle types, are taken into account. These parameters are proposed from the side wear mechanism and subjected to the method of global sensitivity analysis to rank them in order of importance. The rail side wear for various scenarios is calculated through a numerical simulation model of the vehicle-unballasted track and Specht friction wear. Furthermore, with the help of simulation experiments and field cases, the prediction performances of three different prediction models are analyzed in detail. The comparison indicates that the predictive model based on RVM is superior in the prediction of RUL based on rail wear. At present, image restoration has become a research hotspot in computer vision. The purpose of digital image restoration is to restore the lost information of the image or remove redundant objects without destroying the integrity and visual effects of the image. The operation of user interactive color migration is troublesome, resulting in low efficiency. And, when there are many kinds of colors, it is prone to errors. In response to these problems, this paper proposes automatic selection of sample color migration. Considering that the respective gray-scale histograms of the visual source image and the target image are approximately normal distributions, this paper takes the peak point as the mean value of the normal distribution to construct the objective function. We find all the required partitions according to the user's needs and use the center points in these partitions as the initial clustering centers of the fuzzy C-means (FCM) algorithm to complete the automatic clustering of the two images. This paper selects representative pixels as sample blocks to realize automatic matching of sample blocks in the two images and complete the color migration of the entire image. We introduced the curvature into the energy functional of the p-harmonic model. According to whether there is noise in the image, a new wavelet domain image restoration model is proposed. According to the established model, the Euler–Lagrange equation is derived by the variational method, the corresponding diffusion equation is established, and the model is analyzed and numerically solved in detail to obtain the restored image. The results show that the combination of image sample texture synthesis and segmentation matching method used in this paper can effectively solve the problem of color unevenness. In recent years, because the complex system discrete model has brought good results in the application of many research directions such as human management analysis, control system prediction, and animal group prediction, how to combine the complex system discrete model with the prediction of enterprise brand communication effect has become a current research hotspot. Based on this, this paper studies the application of the discrete model based on the complex system in sports club to enterprise brand communication and designs a model of the impact of professional sports club on enterprise brand communication based on the SIR model and PSO algorithm. Firstly, this paper analyzes the research status of the impact on enterprise brand communication at home and abroad and optimizes and improves the impact of professional sports clubs on enterprise brand communication and the shortcomings of big data analysis technology in the current research. With the rapid development of the Internet, the amount of data increases sharply. In this network age, data have been generated, such as multimedia, social networks, and search records. Due to the generation of data, complex system discrete model technology is also widely used in all walks of life. Multimedia learning is a popular teaching mode in the world. Through the discrete model technology of the complex system, this paper deeply studies the impact of multimedia input on college students' English ability. Because the modeling and sampling of complex systems are abstract and not fixed, approximation and control methods are adopted in discrete time, which greatly improves the reliability of the final research results. Compared with the original discrete modeling technology, this paper adds data sampling compression and assimilation technology on the basis of the original discrete modeling technology of the complex system. The results show that, by adding the technical application of controllable and observable systems, the discrete model of the whole complex system can reduce the error of the final output data. At the same time, this paper compresses and simplifies the data nodes at the microlevel. Macroscopically, it reduces the scale, especially the number of node data compression. The final result also realizes the data scale and greatly shortens the calculation time. In this paper, by using the critical point theory, some new results of the existence of at least two nontrivial periodic solutions with prescribed minimal period to a class of 2 n th-order nonlinear discrete system are obtained. Urban rail corrugation on curved tracks with small radii causes strong howling during operation, which has been bothering subway operating companies for many years. Therefore, revealing its causes and growth is important for the comfort and safety of subway operation. Current studies believe that the occurrence of rail corrugation is largely due to the resonant vibration of the wheel-rail system. However, little attention has been paid to the key causes of the track resonance and the practical prediction of the occurrence probability of rail corrugation on the certain track. This paper intends to solve these above issues. Firstly, the practical model of predicting the rail corrugation growth is proposed based on the wheel-rail coupling interaction, the key causes of corrugation are investigated, and the sensitivity analysis is carried out, while the corrugation superposition model is introduced to the analyze the corrugation evolution as well as to validate the corrugation growth from the aspect of material friction and wear. Secondly, the impact of the key causes on the initiation and development of the rail corrugation is investigated based on the cosimulation. Finally, case studies validate the proposed theory model and method. The results show that the practical prediction model for the rail corrugation growth proposed in this paper is able to estimate the occurrence possibility of rail corrugation on a specific track, and the superharmonic resonance of the track directly excited by passing vehicles eventually leads to rail corrugation. It is also found that shortwave corrugation develops more rapidly, and adjusting the support stiffness or sleeper spacing leads to fluctuations in the corrugation wavelength and its wear rate. With the rapid development of communication technology and the popularization of network, information security has been highly valued by all walks of life. Random numbers are used in many cryptographic protocols, key management, identity authentication, image encryption, and so on. True random numbers (TRNs) have better randomness and unpredictability in encryption and key than pseudorandom numbers (PRNs). Chaos has good features of sensitive dependence on initial conditions, randomness, periodicity, and reproduction. These demands coincide with the rise of TRNs generating approaches in chaos field. This survey paper intends to provide a systematic review of true random number generators (TRNGs) based on chaos. Firstly, the two kinds of popular chaotic systems for generating TRNs based on chaos, including continuous time chaotic system and discrete time chaotic system are introduced. The main approaches and challenges are exposed to help researchers decide which are the ones that best suit their needs and goals. Then, existing methods are reviewed, highlighting their contributions and their significance in the field. We also devote a part of the paper to review TRNGs based on current-mode chaos for this problem. Finally, quantitative results are given for the described methods in which they were evaluated, following up with a discussion of the results. Max-plus algebra is a special method to describe the discrete event system. In this paper, it is introduced to describe the motion of lower limb exoskeleton. Based on the max-plus algebra and the timed event graph, the walking process of exoskeleton is modelled. The max-plus algebra approach can describe the logical sequence and safety condition in the walking process, which cannot be achieved via other conventional modelling approaches. The autonomous control of lower limb exoskeleton system is studied via the model based on max-plus algebra. In the end, an FSM (finite state machine) controller embedded with the max-plus algebra model is proposed, and the experiments show ideal speed and gait/phase period control effect, as well as the good safety and stable performance. In the practice of various Internet-based sharing economies, environmental issues of shared products become more prominent and urgent. By analysing the relationship among government, enterprises, and consumers, this paper develops a system dynamics model based on the evolutionary game theory to explore the quantity change pattern of environment-friendly products in a sharing industry. A discrete dynamic system simulation of the quantity change process takes shared bikes in Beijing as a case study. The simulation results are consistent with the analysis of evolutionary game theory. The results show that government subsidies to both enterprises and consumers can lead to higher quantities of environment-friendly shared products, while consumer subsidy is better than enterprise subsidy. This paper is concerned with the chaos of discrete dynamical systems. A new concept of heteroclinic cycles connecting expanding periodic points is raised, and by a novel method, we prove an invariant subsystem is topologically conjugate to the one-side symbolic system. Thus, heteroclinic cycles imply chaos in the sense of Devaney. In addition, if a continuous differential map h has heteroclinic cycles in ℝ n , then g has heteroclinic cycles with h − g C 1 being sufficiently small. Investigating dynamic properties of discrete chaotic systems with fractional order has been receiving much attention recently. This paper provides a contribution to the topic by presenting a novel version of the fractional Grassi–Miller map, along with improved schemes for controlling and synchronizing its dynamics. By exploiting the Caputo h-difference operator, at first, the chaotic dynamics of the map are analyzed via bifurcation diagrams and phase plots. Then, a novel theorem is proved in order to stabilize the dynamics of the map at the origin by linear control laws. Additionally, two chaotic fractional Grassi–Miller maps are synchronized via linear controllers by utilizing a novel theorem based on a suitable Lyapunov function. In this paper, we consider a hybrid network model of delayed predator-prey Gompertz systems with impulsive diffusion between two patches, in which the patches represent nodes of the network such that the prey population interacts locally in each patch and diffusion occurs along the edges connecting the nodes. Using the discrete dynamical system determined by the stroboscopic map which has a globally stable positive fixed point, we obtain the global attractive condition of predator-extinction periodic solution for the network system. The main goal of this paper is to investigate the global asymptotic behavior of the difference system xn+1=γ1yn/A1+xn,  yn+1=β2xn/B2+yn,  n=0,1,2,.... with γ1,β2,A1,B2∈(0,∞) and the initial condition (x0,y0)∈[0,∞)×[0,∞). The objective of this paper is to discuss finite-time bounded synchronization for a class of the growing complex network with nondelayed and delayed coupling. In order to realize finite-time synchronization of complex networks, a new finite-time stable theory is proposed; effective criteria are developed to realize synchronization of the growing complex dynamical network in finite time. Moreover, the error of two growing networks is bounded simultaneously in the process of finite-time synchronization. This paper introduces a new Cournot duopoly game and gives an applied study for price discrimination in a market by dynamic methods. One of two oligopolies has two different prices for a homogeneous product, while the other charges one kind of price. It is found that there is only one stable equilibrium for the discrete dynamic system, and a corresponding stable condition is given. Using a discriminative price is not always beneficial to a firm in equilibrium. If both oligopolies carry out price discrimination, the market's average price is lower than when only one oligopoly does it. The results are verified by numerical simulations. In this paper, a discrete predator-prey system with the periodic boundary conditions will be considered. First, we get the conditions for producing Turing instability of the discrete predator-prey system according to the linear stability analysis. Then, we show that the discrete model has the flip bifurcation and Turing bifurcation under the critical parameter values. Finally, a series of numerical simulations are carried out in the Turing instability region of the discrete predator-prey model; some new Turing patterns such as striped, bar, and horizontal bar are observed. This paper extends the concept of availability equivalence from general binary system to discrete multistate system with different performance rates. It considers a repairable discrete multistate parallel-series system with different performance rates. The system availability is defined as the ability of the system to satisfy consumer demand. The universal generating function technique is adopted to derive the availability of both original and improved systems according to factor method and standby redundancy method. The mine logistics transportation system with belt and surge links is often formed by a complex hybrid dynamic system that consists of continuous and discrete links, and these parts can have the complex changes along with the mining engineering going on. Studying the hybrid system with belt and surge links to fully realize its beneficial functions is very significant. Until now, there have been many references studying the logistics transportation hybrid system with belt and surge links, and many concepts about it have been set up. However, in these references, complicated real-time dynamic changes of the hybrid system usually is studied. This paper presents a novel approach to study real-time dynamic optimization analysis and simulation problems of complex mine logistics transportation hybrid system, which can be used to make optimization design for this kind of complex hybrid system. The proposed method considered expressly complicated real-time dynamic changing of the hybrid system comparing with some existing references and can solve some optimization design problems of the hybrid system. In addition, this paper used statistical data of a real logistics transportation system with belt and surge bin on simulation and gets some useful conclusions. This paper is concerned with a nonautonomous discrete Lotka-Volterra competitive system with time delay. A nonautonomous discrete two-species competition system with infinite delays and single feedback control is considered in this paper. Based on the discrete comparison theorem, a set of sufficient conditions which guarantee the permanence of the system is obtained. Then, by constructing some suitable discrete Lyapunov functionals, some sufficient conditions for the global attractivity and extinction of the system are obtained. The paper investigates the exponential stability of a linear system of difference equations with variable delays xk+1=Axk+∑i=1sBikxk-mik, k=0,1,… , where s∈N, A is a constant square matrix, Bik are square matrices, mik∈N∪0, and mik≤m for an m∈N. New criteria for exponential stability are derived using the method of Lyapunov functions and formulated in terms of the norms of matrices of linear terms and matrices solving an auxiliary Lyapunov equation. An exponential-type estimate of the norm of solutions is given as well. We derive a piecewise linear difference equation from logistic equations with time delay by ultradiscretization. The logistic equation that we consider in this paper has been shown to be globally stable in the continuous and discrete time formulations. Here, we study if ultradiscretization preserves the global stability property, analyzing the asymptotic behaviour of the obtained piecewise linear difference equation. It is shown that our piecewise linear difference equation has a threshold property concerning global attractivity of equilibria, similar to the stable logistic equations with time delay. This paper gives analytical formulas for lookback and barrier options on underlying assets that are exposed to a counterparty risk. The counterparty risk induces a drop in the asset price, but the asset can still be traded after this default time. A novel technique is developed to valuate the lookback and barrier options by first conditioning on the predefault and the postdefault time and then obtain the unconditional analytic formulas for their prices. Since crosswalk width and pedestrian green time directly affect the safety of signalized crosswalks, modeling an exact total crossing time model to estimate those two variables is imperative. The total crossing time needed by a group of pedestrians to cross a signalized crosswalk contains the discharge time and the crossing time. The discharge time depends primarily on the maximum queue length, which is determined by pedestrian arrival rate, red interval, waiting position distribution, and the crosswalk width. Crossing time increases when interactions between bidirectional pedestrian flows become more serious. Thus, quantifying the impacts of the start-up process on the discharge time and the effects of the interactions on the crossing time is a prerequisite for optimizing the design of signalized crosswalks. This paper establishes a modified total crossing time model consisting of modified pedestrian discharge and crossing time. Discharge time is modeled by applying traffic wave theory, and crossing time is modeled based on drag force theory. This paper develops a type of data-driven networked optimal iterative learning control strategy for a class of discrete linear time-varying systems with one-operation Bernoulli-type communication delays. In terms of the stochastic Bernoulli-type one-operation communication delayed inputs and outputs, the previous-iteration synchronous compensations are adopted. By means of deriving gradients of two types of objective functions that express the optimal approximation of the system matrix and the minimal tracking error, the strategy approximates the system matrix and upgrades the control inputs in an interact mode as the iteration evolves. By taking advantage of matrix theory and statistical technique, it is derived that the approximation discrepancy of the system matrix is bounded and the mathematical expectation of the tracking error vanishes as the iteration goes on. This paper investigates the nonlinear unscented Kalman filtering (UKF) problem for discrete nonlinear dynamic systems with random parameters. We develop an improved unscented transformation by incorporating the random parameters into the state vector to enlarge the number of sigma points. The theoretical analysis reveals that the approximated mean and covariance via the improved unscented transformation match the true values correctly up to the third order of Taylor series expansion. Based on the improved unscented transformation, an improved UKF method is proposed to expand the application of the UKF for nonlinear systems with random parameters. An application to the mobile source localization with time difference of arrival (TDOA) measurements and sensor position uncertainties is provided where the simulation results illustrate that the improved UKF method leads to a superior performance in comparison with the normal UKF method. Mutual exclusion problems widely exist in discrete event systems in which several processes will compete for the common resource for maintaining their normal running. This competition is mutually exclusive. However, a special behavior, that is, periodic mutual exclusion behavior, is important for many discrete event systems. Once a process obtains the common resource, it will consecutively obtain the common resource in the following several competitions. The other processes should wait for the release of the common resource. All processes will compete for the common resource again after the common resource is released. These competitions have obvious periodicity. In this paper, a methodology is proposed to design periodic mutual exclusion supervisors to control the periodic mutual exclusion behavior in discrete event systems. Moreover, two original structural conversion concepts, called k-derivation and k-convergence processes, are proposed to construct the periodic mutual exclusion supervisors. The discussion results show that many undesirable execution sequences are forbidden since the periodic mutual exclusion behavior is controlled by the proposed periodic mutual exclusion supervisors. This paper is devoted to stochastic delayed one-predator and two-competing-prey systems with two kinds of different functional responses. By establishing appropriate Lyapunov functions, the globally positive solution and stochastic boundedness are investigated. In some case, the stochastic permanence and extinction are also obtained. In nature and society, there exist many learning modes; thus, in this paper the goal is to incorporate features from the social organizations to improve the learning of intelligent systems. Inspired by future prediction, in the high level, the discrete dynamics is further written into the equivalent prediction model which can provide the bridge from now to the future. In the low level, the efficiency could be improved in way of group learning. This paper presents a saving-based heuristic for the vehicle routing problem with time windows and stochastic travel times (VRPTWSTT). One of the basic ideas of the heuristic is to advance the latest service start time of each customer by a certain period of time. In this way, the reserved time can be used to cope with unexpected travel time delay when necessary. Another important idea is to transform the VRPTWSTT to a set of vehicle routing problems with time windows (VRPTW), each of which is defined by a given percentage used to calculate the reserved time for customers. Based on the above two key ideas, a three-stage heuristic that includes the “problem transformation” stage, the “solution construction” stage, and the “solution improvement” stage is developed. After the problem transformation in the first stage, the work of the next two stages is to first construct an initial solution for each transformed VRPTW by improving the idea of the classical Clarke-Wright heuristic and then further improve the solution. A steady state equation of the discrete heat diffusion can be obtained by the heat diffusion of particles or the difference method of the elliptic equations. In this paper, the nonexistence, existence, and uniqueness of positive solutions for a general discrete Dirichlet boundary value problem are considered by using the maximum principle, eigenvalue method, sub- and supersolution technique, and monotone method. All obtained results are new and valid on any n-dimension finite lattice point domain. Cooperative networks that use adjacent nodes to relay hearing data are employed as an effective technique to deal with channel fading, thereby enhancing the network performances. Next-hop and relay nodes selection schemes determine the optimal next-hop node toward the destination and relay node between the source and the optimal next-hop and/or destination. Offering joint next-hop and relay node selection in distributive multihop cooperative networks will enable the source to select the optimal next-hop node and relay node that can improve the system performance. In this paper, we propose a joint next-hop node and relay node selection (JNRS) protocol for wireless distributive multihop cooperative networks. The goal of JNRS is to reduce the spectral efficiency loss and outage probability. The discrete logistic map is one of the most famous discrete chaotic maps which has widely spread applications. This paper investigates a set of four generalized logistic maps where the conventional map is a special case. The proposed maps have extra degrees of freedom which provide different chaotic characteristics and increase the design flexibility required for many applications such as quantitative financial modeling. Based on the maximum chaotic range of the output, the proposed maps can be classified as positive logistic map, mostly positive logistic map, negative logistic map, and mostly negative logistic map. Mathematical analysis for each generalized map includes bifurcation diagrams relative to all parameters, effective range of parameters, first bifurcation point, and the maximum Lyapunov exponent (MLE). Independent, vertical, and horizontal scales of the bifurcation diagram are discussed for each generalized map as well as a new bifurcation diagram related to one of the added parameters. An Euler difference scheme for a three-dimensional predator-prey model is considered and we introduce a new approach to show the global stability of the scheme. For this purpose, we partition the three-dimensional space and calculate the sign of the rate change of population of species in each partitioned region. A discrete two-species competitive model is investigated. By using some preliminary lemmas and constructing a Lyapunov function, the existence and uniformly asymptotic stability of positive almost periodic solutions of the system are derived. Considering the advantages of distribution and maximum parallelism of membrane computing and availability of discrete Morse theory to deal with discrete structure, in this paper, combining discrete Morse theory and membrane computing, a novel membrane structure—P system with chain structure, is proposed, which is constructed on the basis of discrete gradient vector path of the discrete Morse theory. At the theoretical level, due to its unique chain structure, compared with traditional P system, its structure, object, and rule are described in details. In the practical aspect, a specific application example, P chain system for arithmetic operation, is presented to demonstrate the superiority, computational efficiency, and ability of P system with chain structure. Moreover, a simulation system of arithmetic operations based on P chain system is designed, giving a visual display of the implementation of P chain system for arithmetic operation, and verifying the feasibility and effectiveness of P chain system. Based on a special matrix structure, the projective synchronization control laws of the hyperchaotic financial systems are proposed in this paper. Put a hyperchaotic financial system as the drive system, via transformation of the system state variables, construct its response system, and then design the controller based on the special matrix structure. The given scheme is applied to achieve projective synchronization of the different hyperchaotic financial systems. Numerical experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the method. This paper is concerned with a discrete predator-prey model with Holling II functional response and delays. Applying Gaines and Mawhin’s continuation theorem of coincidence degree theory and the method of Lyapunov function, we obtain some sufficient conditions for the existence global asymptotic stability of positive periodic solutions of the model.
