In this paper, we investigate joint retrospective interference alignment (RIA) and caching schemes for multiple-input single-output (MISO) broadcast channels (BC) with delayed channel state information at the transmitter (CSIT). By exploiting the cached content, we propose one sophisticated cache-aided RIA scheme to cancel the interference. Importantly, our scheme takes the number of symbols in a packet into account, as different number of symbols in a packet result in different system configuration, which may have significant impact on the design of the transmission scheme and achievable degrees of freedom (DoF). Furthermore, we present two theorems to quantify the achievable sum DoF of the proposed cached-aided RIA scheme for different system configuration. Moreover, the system configuration of the existing cache-aided RIA scheme with mixed CSIT can be treated as a special case in our paper. And also our scheme can simultaneously support more users than the existing cache-aided RIA scheme with mixed CSIT to invoke zero forcing (ZF) precoding, which limits the number of users simultaneously supported. Indoor drone or Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) operations, automated or with pilot control, are an upcoming and exciting subset of drone use cases. Automated indoor flights tighten the requirements of stability and localization accuracy in comparison with the classic outdoor use cases which rely primarily on (RTK) GNSS for localization. In this paper the effect of multiple sensors on 3D indoor position accuracy is investigated using the flexible sensor fusion platform OASE. This evaluation is based on real-life drone flights in an industrial lab with mm-accurate ground truth measurements provided by motion capture cameras, allowing the evaluation of the sensors based on their deviation from the ground truth in 2D and 3D. The sensors under consideration for this research are: IMU, sonar, SLAM camera, ArUco markers and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) positioning with up to 6 anchors. The paper demonstrates that using this setup, the achievable 2D (3D) indoor localization error varies between 4.4 cm and 21 cm (4.9 cm and 67.2 cm) depending on the selected set of sensors. Furthermore, cost/accuracy trade-offs are included to indicate the relative importance of different sensor combinations depending on the (engineering) budget and use case. These lab results were validated in a Proof of Concept deployment of an inventory scanning drone with more than 10 flight hours in a 65 000 m2 warehouse. By combining lab results and real-life deployment experiences, different subsets of sensors are presented as a minimal viable solution for three different indoor use cases considering accuracy and cost: a large drone with little weight- and cost restrictions, one or more medium sized drones, and a swarm of weight and cost restricted nano drones. This paper proposes a novel bit loading algorithm to multicarrier non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) systems to maximize the system total throughput while satisfying the users’ individual quality of service (QoS) constraints. Although bit loading is generally a non-deterministic polynomial-time (NP)-hard problem, even for orthogonal multiple access (OMA), the mutual interference between the users, and the dependence of power coefficients and modulation orders are additional challenges that add substantial complexity to the optimization problem. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an efficient bit loading algorithm for multicarrier NOMA systems and compare the complexity and throughput with a corresponding OMA system. The obtained results show that for the case of NOMA, bit loading provides an additional degree of freedom that allows non-uniform spectrum sharing among the users. In particular scenarios, the system may experience hybrid modes of operation, where the system switches between NOMA and OMA. The obtained numerical results show that NOMA can outperform OMA by 100% in terms of spectral efficiency, for a two-user scenario. The complexity of the loading process for NOMA is noticeably higher than OMA, which is due to the high complexity associated with the bit error rate (BER) computation in the case of NOMA. The critical nature of vehicular communications requires their extensive testing and evaluation. Analytical models can represent an attractive and cost-effective approach for such evaluation if they can adequately model all underlying effects that impact the performance of vehicular communications. Several analytical models have been proposed to date to model vehicular communications based on the IEEE 802.11p (or DSRC) standard. However, existing models normally model in detail the MAC (Medium Access Control), and generally simplify the propagation and interference effects. This reduces their value as an alternative to evaluate the performance of vehicular communications. This paper addresses this gap, and presents new analytical models that accurately model the performance of vehicle-to-vehicle communications based on the IEEE 802.11p standard. The models jointly account for a detailed modeling of the propagation and interference effects, as well as the impact of the hidden terminal problem. The model quantifies the PDR (Packet Delivery Ratio) as a function of the distance between transmitter and receiver. The paper also presents new analytical models to quantify the probability of the four different types of packet errors in IEEE 802.11p. In addition, the paper presents the first analytical model capable to accurately estimate the Channel Busy Ratio (CBR) metric even under high channel load levels. All the analytical models are validated by means of simulation for a wide range of parameters, including traffic densities, packet transmission frequencies, transmission power levels, data rates and packet sizes. This paper considers the $\mathscr{L}_{2}$ string stability analysis and controller synthesis for vehicle platooning under jamming attacks and interferences from other communication channels. Jamming attacks and interferences for vehicle platooning systems are modeled as periodic denial of service attacks. Further, the vehicle platooning with denial of service attacks is modeled as a distributed switching system where an average dwell time approach is adopted for the stability analysis. Under the distributed switching system framework, this paper presents a co-design paradigm for the vehicle platooning. The distributed event-triggered method (ETM) and controllers are presented to guarantee $\mathscr{L}_{2}$ string stability, which can ensure that the output cannot be amplified along the vehicle platooning. Sufficient conditions for $\mathscr{L}_{2}$ string stability are then provided to guide the co-design of the ETM and controllers, which can be efficiently obtained by solving LMIs. A commonly used assumption in the existing unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) channel models is that the UAV flies along linear trajectories. However, this assumption does not always hold in realistic UAV communication scenarios. In this paper, we relax the linear trajectory restriction and present a temporally non-stationary channel model for UAV-to-ground communication scenario. The temporal non-stationarity of the channel stemming from time-varying heading directions of the UAV is properly modeled. This is achieved by combining a geometry-based stochastic model (GBSM) and an aeronautic random mobility model (RMM), which is introduced to characterize the movement pattern of UAVs. Based on UAV and ground station (GS) trajectories, time-varying model parameters and statistics including space-time-frequency correlation function (STF-CF), Doppler power spectrum density (PSD), delay PSD, and stationary interval are derived. The influences of the RMM-related parameters on the statistics are presented and analyzed. Some of those statistics are verified by measurements, showing the practicability of the model. Radar-based human activity recognition (HAR) finds various applications like assisted living and driver behavior monitoring. As radar data are heavily environment-dependent, it is becoming increasingly important to develop a transfer learning mechanism that enables a radar-based HAR system with desirable cross-environment adaptation feasibility. This paper concerns the issue of how radar-based HAR system can adapt to a new environment without source data. To this end, we devote to using the source hypothesis transfer learning architecture to build such an environment adaptation mechanism towards cross-environment radar-based HAR. In doing this, it is a challenging task to develop a reliable self-supervised labeling strategy for generating pseudo labels associated with the unlabeled target data, which is crucial to facilitate the learning of a target-specific feature extractor being responsible for environment adaptation. This paper presents the neighbor-aggregating-based labeling method and incorporates it with the existing clustering-based labeling method to perform the self-supervised labeling task. The logic behind our approach is that the above two labeling methods are complementary to each other in terms of making use of both local and global structures of adaptation data to supervise the labeling task. The coordination of both labeling methods is motivated to be implemented in the weighted combination form, which contributes to improving the reliability of generated labels. The localization system is one of the key components of autonomous vehicles. Widely-used GNSS (low-cost) alone can not meet the centimeter accuracy and is unstable in urban environment. Typically LiDAR-based localization system is very computationally demanding due to the usage of the dense point cloud map. In this paper, we propose a novel lightweight LiDAR-based localization system for autonomous vehicle in this paper. The proposed system only relies on lightweight poles and curbs landmark map, which is highly robust and efficient compared to other localization systems. Poles and curbs are selected as landmarks because of their commonality and stability. We novelly propose a Branch-and-Bound (BnB)-based global optimization method to tackle the data association problem of poles. Motion decoupling is adopted to decouple translation and rotation to improve the efficiency of the BnB-based algorithm. Besides, we propose a new local grid map-based representation for curbs to make better use of curb information. Cost functions for pole and curb are defined respectively and then fused for the subsequent non-linear optimization method to obtain the vehicle location. This paper proposes a path tracking controller to assist the electronic-four-wheel drive (e-4WD) vehicle in following the desired path profile. It utilizes only readily available in-vehicle sensors and a standalone global positioning system (GPS). Noteworthy, both the lateral distance error and the heading angle error between the desired path profile and the vehicle are calculated using only a standalone GPS. Therefore, the proposed algorithm can be easily applied to mass-produced e-4WD vehicles. A model predictive control (MPC) is selected as the controller type, which derives optimal control input considering both state and input constraints of in-wheel motor (IWM) in the e-4WD vehicle. Due to the advantage of this MPC predicting the vehicle's future dynamic behavior in advance, it is possible to output a more preemptive and stable yaw moment for vehicle path tracking. Finally, a weighted least square (WLS) allocation that is suitable for redundant actuator configuration is utilized to distribute the optimal IWM torques to the front left and right wheels of the e-4WD vehicle. The major contributions of the proposed control algorithm are as follows. 1) It is the first time in this paper that the MPC is applied to path tracking of e-4WD vehicles. 2) The condensed constraint matrix of the proposed MPC has a structure that can be easily applied to the linear programming. Using the CarSim simulation and the real-car based experiment, the effectiveness of the proposed MPC algorithm is verified by a comparative analysis. Aiming at the low-frequency oscillation (LFO) phenomenon in high-speed railways, this paper proposes a feedback linearized virtual inertia control (VIC) strategy of the traction converter based on a sliding mode observer (SMO) to improve the robustness of the system and suppress the occurrence of LFO. First, to optimize the total harmonic distortion of the traction grid-side current, the inner loop controller is designed as the feedback linearization control. Then, the voltage outer loop is designed as a combination of the VIC designed in this paper and SMO, which enhances the system inertia and reduces the impact of external interference on the system, while reducing the controller's demand for electrical power on the DC-side. Furthermore, a small-signal model is established to analyze the stability of the single-phase vehicle-grid system under the proposed control. The influence of the control parameters on stability is discussed in detail. Finally, the comparison of software simulation and hardware-in-the-loop experimental results between traditional PI control, feedback linearization control, feedback+SMO, feedback+VIC and the proposed control method shows that the proposed control has better dynamic and static characteristics, and can effectively inhibit the occurrence of LFO. Multiple signal classification (MUSIC) has been widely applied in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) receivers for direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation. To reduce the cost of radio frequency (RF) chains at millimeter-wave bands, hybrid analog-digital structure has been adopted in massive MIMO transceivers. In this situation, received signals at the antennas are unavailable to the digital receiver, and as a consequence, the spatial covariance matrix (SCM), which is essential in MUSIC algorithm, cannot be obtained using traditional sample average approach. Based on our previous work, we propose a novel algorithm for SCM reconstruction in hybrid massive MIMO systems with multiple RF chains in this paper. By switching the analog beamformers to a group of predetermined DOAs, SCM can be reconstructed through the solutions of a set of linear equations. Furthermore, a low-complexity algorithm, as well as a careful selection of the predetermined DOAs, will be also presented in this paper. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithms can reconstruct the SCM accurately so that MUSIC algorithm can be well used in hybrid massive MIMO systems with multiple RF chains. Benefiting from the rapid progress of wireless communication and artificial intelligence, multi-agent collaboration opens up new opportunities for various fields. To facilitate multi-agent acting as a group, effective communication plays a crucial role. Recently, many efforts based on multi-agent reinforcement learning have been made to enable effective multi-agent communication under limited bandwidth or noisy channel. However, current methods do not explore wireless resource allocation strategy explicitly. Moreover, due to ignoring task-relevant significance of information, traditional wireless resource allocation schemes may fail to guarantee the transmission efficiency and reliability for multi-agent communication. To this end, in this paper, we propose a task-oriented communication principle for multi-agent communication. We model the task-oriented channel allocation problem as a decentralized partially observable Markov decision process and propose a multi-agent reinforcement learning framework as a solution. Specifically, we design a novel variational information bottleneck to extract task-relevant information from local observation. Furthermore, a task-oriented channel allocation mechanism is developed to choose the allocation pattern with maximum expected gain. Finally, a double attention mechanism is developed to motivate the efficient utilization of task-relevant information. The wireless-powered communication paradigm brings self-sustainability to the on-vehicle sensors by harvesting the energy from radiated radio frequency (RF) signals. This paper proposes a novel transmission and resource allocation strategy for the scenario where multiple wireless powered vehicle area networks (VAN) co-existed with high density. The considered multi-VAN system consists of a remote master access point (MAP), multiple on-vehicle hybrid access points (HAPs) and sensors. Unlike previous works, we consider that the sensors can recycle the radiated radio frequency energy from all the HAPs when HAPs communicate with MAP, so the dedicated signals for energy harvesting (EH) are unnecessary. The proposed strategy can achieve simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) without complex receiver architecture requirements. The extra EH and interference caused by the dense distribution of VANs, which are rarely explored, are fully considered. To maximize the sum throughput of all the sensors while guaranteeing the transmission from HAPs to the MAP, we jointly optimize the time allocation, system energy consumption, power allocation, and receive beamforming. Due to the non-convexity of the formulated problem, we address the sub-problems separately through the Rayleigh quotient, Frobenius norm minimization and convex optimization. In this paper, we propose a physical layer secret key (PLSK) generation scheme for secure encrypted transmissions in orbital angular momentum (OAM) communication systems which improves the secret key capacity via taking advantage of OAM orthogonal modes. Based on the line-of-sight (LoS) quasi-static channel conditions in OAM systems, we propose a mode-based active defense phase in the PLSK scheme to invalidate keys generated by an eavesdropper when it is extremely close to the legitimate user. Our simulation results highlight that the key information generated by the eavesdropper is almost zero in the case of highly correlated legitimate and eavesdropping channels under LoS conditions. In addition, our proposed OAM PLSK scheme achieves a higher key generation rate (KGR) than existing works since mode-based active defense can disrupt the process of PLSK by the eavesdropper. Movement intention inference for non-cooperative evasive targets in urban environments is difficult due to the lack of a priori knowledge of the possible target's movement intentions set. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a multi-level intention inference approach to construct and infer the movement intentions of a non-cooperative evasive target in urban environments. Firstly, to reasonably represent the possible movement intentions of the target, we decompose the target's movement intention into different regions at multiple levels according to the urban environment and the location of the target. At the same time, we divide the region at each level into several different sub-regions to represent the different movement intentions of the target at that level. Thus, the possible target's movement intentions are constructed as different regions at different levels where the target intends to go. Secondly, Convolutional Neural Network (CNN)-based intention inference models are developed, which can fuse the urban environment information and the observed target's trajectory to infer the target's movement intentions. Extensive simulation experiments results show that our proposed multi-level intention inference models can accurately and timely (with 79% accuracy and 84% timeliness) infer the region where the target intends to go when the possible destinations of the target are unknowable and maintain a robust inference performance when the target's behavior changes. Conventional direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation algorithms like MUSIC only allow localization of fewer number of sources than the number of physical sensors. In this paper, underdetermined azimuth localization (localizing more sources than the number of sensors) using arbitrary planar arrays has been proposed, using only second-order statistics of the received data. To achieve this, we utilize the difference coarray of the actual array and express the elements of the array covariance matrix as the signal received by the virtual sensors of the coarray. We explore the structure and geometry of the difference coarray of an $N$ -element planar array and show that the coarray can provide an increased degree-of-freedom (DOF) of $\mathcal {O}(N^{2})$ which enables underdetermined localization. Then, we extend the manifold separation (MS) technique to the coarray to express the coarray steering matrix in terms of a Vandermonde structured matrix by designing a signal independent coarray characteristic matrix. As the signal model of a coarray is a single snapshot model, the Vandermonde structure enables us to perform a spatial smoothing type operation to restore the rank of the coarray covariance matrix. This allows us to propose a novel subspace-based algorithm, which we call the coarrayMS-MUSIC, to perform underdetermined source localization using arbitrary planar arrays. We have also introduced the polynomial rooting version of our algorithm called the coarrayMS-rootMUSIC. In this paper, a joint design of sparse code multiple access (SCMA) codebook and peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) reduction based on the partial transmit sequence (PTS) technique is proposed for the downlink orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) scheme. A benchmark scheme is firstly devised based on a direct extension of the conventional PTS-based OFDM scheme. Based on the characteristics of the near-optimal SCMA codebook designs reported in our previous work, a PTS-based SCMA-OFDM design is proposed by carefully determining the rotation angles of the SCMA codebooks, according to the adopted signal sub-constellations. A receiver which does not need the side information is further devised. Considering the phase ambiguity issue of the receiver, the PTS angles have been carefully refined. When compared to both the original scheme that does not consider PAPR reduction techniques and the benchmark scheme, the proposed scheme achieves a significantly enhanced PAPR performance with approximately the same error performance. In addition, a comparable PAPR performance, an improved error performance, and a lower computational complexity can be achieved when compared to the clipping-based SCMA-OFDM scheme reported in the previous literature. Mobile edge computing is popular for providing services with low latency and high privacy. It becomes more powerful by leveraging the widely deployed Small cell Base Stations (SBS) with zooming cells for energy-efficient service placement. However, the literature ignores the joint optimization of SBS power control and service placement. The Quality of Services (QoS) guarantee is also challenging, taking into account the component dependency and parallelization in multi-component services and the resource slicing for separated service deployment. Moreover, prior works assume the same amount of allocated resources of links on a placed path for service edge allocation, leading to the ossification of resource allocation and inevitable resource fragments. Towards the above challenges, this paper addresses the energy-efficient and flexible service placement in cell zooming enabled Mobile Edge Cloud (MEC) networks. The delay of multi-component services is constructed depending on the allocated resource slice. Besides, the joint optimization of service placement and SBS power control is formulated and transformed into a Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP). More importantly, the equivalent bandwidth for an edge allocation is defined and analyzed to obtain flexible edge placement with minimum resource cost. Leveraging the results of MILP, an Energy-efficient Service placement algorithm based on equivalent Bandwidth in Cell zooming enabled MEC networks (ESBC) is proposed to improve the probability of successful service placement with QoS guarantee by optimizing the delay distribution among components and edges and reducing resource fragments. The number of individuals and groups of users offloading independent and inter-related computational tasks to mobile edge computing (MEC) servers is rapidly increasing, thus overloading them and raising the risk of service interruptions. Hence, reactive service replication has been suggested to enable individuals and groups of users to access services from remote edge servers, thus guaranteeing system scalability. This paper proposes a task offloading and service replication scheme on local and remote MEC servers. The scheme minimizes the response time of all users while satisfying the delay requirements of user groups in traffic-heavy and multimedia-intense applications (e.g., online gaming, multimedia conferencing, augmenting reality). We formulate an integer linear problem that minimizes the average response time of all users while satisfying the time and time difference constraints of the user groups running the same applications. We then use linear relaxation programming using Lagrangian analysis and solve the problem using a numerical solver. In addition, we compare the optimal solution to distance-based and resource-based greedy approaches. In this article, we focus on the pilot-assisted transmission design for secure ultra-reliable and low-latency communication (URLLC) systems, which has not yet been studied in the existing literatures. In each transmission period of this system, the multi-antenna controller sends confidential URLLC messages integrated with artificial noise (AN) to a single-antenna actuator for some mission-critical operations (e.g., remote control), and while an unknown number of passive eavesdroppers attempt to intercept this confidential message in a non-colluding manner. Since the conventional ergodic secrecy capacity is not accurate to describe the maximal achievable secrecy rate of URLLC with short blocklength coding, we establish the concept of achievable effective secrecy rate (AESR) to measure the secrecy performance of our URLLC system, which is defined as the average number of information bits can be transmitted per channel use under given reliability and information leakage constraints. Due to the exact expression of AESR has an intractable form, we derive a closed-form approximation on the AESR to simplify the calculation, via leveraging the Laplace approximation and Gaussian-Chebyshev quadrature method. Following by this approximation, we propose an efficient two-dimensional search algorithm to determine the optimal transmission parameters that maximize the AESR, i.e., the training pilot length and the power allocation ratio between confidential data signals and AN. Furthermore, the asymptotic performance of AESR in the high-SNR regime is also analyzed to gain more insights. Numerical results validate the accuracy of theoretical approximations presented in this paper, and illustrate how the particular system parameters impact the AESR of our considered URLLC system. Covert communications is critical in many application scenarios for ensuring transmission security and privacy. Two-way protocols are widely adopted in intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) assisted relaying networks to enable covert communications and prevent wireless signals from being overheard. To quantify the performance of covert communications in this special scenario, we derive the closed-form expression of outage probability and its asymptote in this paper. Considering the worst-case of covert communications, the optimal normalized power threshold of warden's detector is analyzed under a complex Gaussian distribution approximation. To meet the requirement of the detection error probability, the ratio of the transmission power between the covert nodes is investigated. In vehicular networks, authentication technology provides a basic security means to achieve trusted communication between legitimate vehicles. Revocation checking for vehicle certificates is an indispensable procedure in the process of authentication to protect vehicular networks from attacks by non-legitimate vehicles. However, revocation checking introduces procedures that requires additional time to process which challenges latency-sensitive applications in vehicular networks. This challenge grows more evidently when considering the factor of privacy preservation. In this paper, we propose to offload partial revocation task to network edges to lighten the revocation process in vehicles. Particularly, we design a method to achieve decentralized Global Certificate Revocation List (GCRL) management in network edges using permissioned blockchain technologies. In the method, both tamper-proof property and quick synchronization of the GCRL are guaranteed. Besides, our method can detect illegal revocation behaviours by validation in vehicles. Finally, we build a prototype of our proposed solution based on Hyperledger Fabric, and compare with Proof-of-Work scheme in terms of blockchain synchronization latency performance. Spectral-compatible radar emission has a paramount importance in realizing the coexistence of radar with wireless communications. In this paper, we deal with the design of spectral-compatible transmit beampattern with minimum peak sidelobe level for a narrowband multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) radar. We also consider constraints that are imposed due to the practical high power amplifier(HPA) used in modern radars. The constraints are used to control the dynamic range on the magnitude of each signal, to control variations in the transmit power from the individual antennas and the total energy of the signals. The considered problem is challenging as it is non-convex. To this end, we propose an iterative solution that incorporates the majoriztion-minimization(MM) and alternating direction method of multipliers(ADMM) frameworks. Our solution avoids the computationally expensive operations such as matrix inverse and eigenvalue decomposition. We provide numerical results to validate the proposed solution. The results show that the method provides the intended spectral-compatible beampattern while maintaining a beampattern synthesize performance that is comparable to the state-of-the-art work. This paper considers the downlink of an ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC) system in which a base station (BS) serves multiple single-antenna users in the short (finite) blocklength (FBL) regime with the assistance of a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS). In the FBL regime, the users' achievable rates are complex functions of the beamforming vectors and of the RIS's programmable reflecting elements (PREs). We propose the joint design of the transmit beamformers and PREs to maximize the geometric mean (GM) of these rates (GM-rate) and show that this approach provides fair rate distribution and thus reliable links to all users. Connected and automated vehicles (CAVs) have shown great potential in improving traffic efficiency in the area of intersection management. Numerous researches have been accomplished to solve the CAV scheduling problem at the intersection scenario. However, most of them focus on intersections where lane-changing behavior is prohibited, which is impractical for real-world implementation. To address this problem, this paper proposes a novel cooperation framework to solve the CAV arrival scheduling problem in unsignalized intersections where lane changing behavior is permitted. In the first stage, an iterative framework is proposed to solve target assignment and path planning problems, which prevents the deadlock of multiple CAVs with different target lanes. In the second stage, a graph-based minimum clique cover method is then established to obtain the optimal scheduling plan for the CAVs with a low calculation burden. In this paper, a model fusion method (MFM) is proposed for online state of charge (SOC) and state of power (SOP) co-estimation of lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) in electric vehicles (EVs). Firstly, a particle swarm optimization-genetic algorithm (PSO-GA) method is cooperated with a 2-RCCPE fractional-order model (FOM) to construct battery open-circuit voltage (OCV)-SOC curve, which only relies on a part of dynamic load profile without the prior knowledge of an initial SOC. Secondly, a dual extended Kalman filter (DEKF) algorithm based on a 1-RC model is employed to identify the model parameters and estimate battery SOC with the extracted OCV-SOC curve. Furthermore, battery polarization dynamics in a SOP prediction window is analyzed from two aspects: (1) self-recovery; and (2) current excitation. They are separately simulated using 2-RCCPE FOM and 1-RC model, and then integrated through a model fusion for online SOP estimation, which enables an analytical expression of battery peak charge/discharge current in a prediction window without weakening the nonlinear characteristic of FOM. Experimental results demonstrate the improved performance of the proposed MFM for online discharge SOP estimation, where the mean absolute error and root mean square error are only 0.288 W and 0.35 W, respectively, under the urban dynamometer driving schedule profile. As the network slicing is one of the critical enablers in communication networks, one anomalous physical node (PN) or physical link (PL) in substrate networks that carries multiple virtual network elements can cause significant performance degradation of multiple network slices. To recover the substrate networks from anomaly within a short time, rapid and accurate identification of whether or not the anomaly exists in PNs and PLs is vital. Online anomaly detection methods that can analyze system data in real-time are preferred. Besides, as virtual nodes and links mapped to PNs and PLs are scattered in multiple slices, the distributed detection modes are required to adapt to the virtualized environment. According to those requirements, in this paper, we first propose a distributed online PN anomaly detection algorithm based on a decentralized one-class support vector machine (OCSVM), which is realized through analyzing real-time measurements of virtual nodes mapped to PNs in a distributed manner. Specifically, to decouple the OCSVM objective function, we transform the original problem to a group of decentralized quadratic programming problems by introducing the consensus constraints. The alternating direction method of multipliers is adopted to achieve the solution for the distributed online PN anomaly detection. Next, by utilizing the correlation of measurements between neighbor virtual nodes, another distributed online PL anomaly detection algorithm based on the canonical correlation analysis is proposed. The network only needs to store covariance matrices and mean vectors of current data to calculate the canonical correlation vectors for real-time PL anomaly analysis. In this paper, the interior permanent-magnet vernier (PMV) machines and the conventional PMV machine are quantitatively compared regarding the requirements for electric automatic guided vehicles (AGV). The key feature of the interior PMV machines is to place the middle iron pole sandwiched by PMs in the slots between the salient rotor poles. As a result, three types of interior PMV machines with different PM arrangements, namely two V-type PMV (V-PMV) and one U-type PMV (U-PMV) machines, are developed. Due to the improved flux modulation effect, the V-PMV and U-PMV machines can respectively provide over 20% and 30% higher torque density than the conventional PMV counterpart, under a high power factor level of 0.86. The working principle is illustrated based on the field modulation theory. A comparative study among the conventional PMV and interior PMV machines is conducted in terms of electromagnetic performances and dynamic responses, after performing global optimization of design parameters. The application of non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) to multi-layer multicast video streaming is envisioned to address the explosively growing demand for capacity which is dominated mostly by multimedia content. In this paper, a joint power allocation and subgrouping scheme is developed to enhance the performance of NOMA-based multi-layer multicast systems. An optimization problem is formulated to maximize the overall sum multicast rate whilst satisfying the maximum transmission power and proportional rate constraints. Due to the complexity of the optimization problem, we first derive two power allocation techniques for the 2-layer case considering arbitrary subgrouping which are based on the iterative implementation and closed-form analysis, respectively. We then generalize the low-complexity closed-form solution for the general multi-layer case. This scheme successively allocates power to each layer stream while assuring that the minimum target rate and proportionality are guaranteed, particularly for the transmission rate of the high-priority base layer stream. A sub-optimal joint power allocation and subgrouping scheme is also designed by incorporating the power allocation scheme into the proposed iterative subgrouping techniques. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the power allocation and subgrouping schemes in enhancing the sum multicast rate performance. This paper presents a novel active power control scheme for SRMs that are used as S/G units at MEAs; the proposed method uses a vector-controlled SAF, facilitating the acceleration of the SRM during starter mode and the efficient power control of the SRG at various operational points during generator mode. Moreover, an energy storage unit is incorporated in the SAF, aiming at enhancing the SRM's starting torque production and taking full advantage of the SRG's energy generation capability, through the appropriate phases’ magnetization regulation that is imposed by the developed adaptive SAF vector control. Vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication has been designed to afford improvements in the traffic congestion and traffic accidents by directly exchanging information between nearby vehicles. However, V2V communication may have difficulty providing service reliability due to interference between V2V links and vehicle-to-cellular user equipment links. In this paper, we consider the transmit power control algorithm to minimize interference among cellular users and vehicles in the context of V2V communication underlaid uplink cellular networks. First, we formulate the problem, which is an NP-hard combinatorial optimization problem with linear constraints. Addressing this problem with traditional optimization methods is ineffective; therefore, we design and train a deep neural network to address this optimization problem. Computational complexity analyses and simulation results reveal that the proposed algorithm outperforms weighted minimum mean squared error (WMMSE), fixed transmit power, and Dinkelbach's methods, and achieves near-global optimum with lower computation complexity than the exhaustive search (ES). In this paper, we investigate the performance of an intelligent omni-surface (IOS) assisted downlink non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) network with phase quantization errors and channel estimation errors, where the channels related to the IOS are spatially correlated. First, upper bounds on the average achievable rates of the two users are derived. Then, channel hardening is shown to occur in the proposed system, based on which we derive approximations of the average achievable rates of the two users. The analytical results illustrate that the proposed upper bound and approximation on the average achievable rates are asymptotically equivalent in the number of elements. Furthermore, it is proved that the asymptotic equivalence also holds for the average achievable rates with correlated and uncorrelated channels. Additionally, we extend the analysis by evaluating the average achievable rates for IOS assisted orthogonal multiple access (OMA) and IOS assisted multi-user NOMA scenarios. Simulation results corroborate the theoretical analysis and demonstrate that: i) low-precision elements with only two-bit phase adjustment can achieve the performance close to the ideal continuous phase shifting scheme; ii) The average achievable rates with correlated channels and uncorrelated channels are asymptotically equivalent in the number of elements; iii) IOS-assisted NOMA does not always perform better than OMA due to the reconfigurability of IOS in different time slots. One of the most challenging problems in autonomous driving is trajectory planning for lane changes. Conventional trajectory planning is generally realized by optimizing a specific cost function. However, the model performance required for different scenarios makes it repetitive and time-consuming to tune the cost function. Furthermore, to ensure driving safety, comfort as well as traffic efficiency, it is essential to interact with other vehicles by predicting their driving intentions. Therefore, this paper proposes a segmented-updated lane-change trajectory planning method for autonomous vehicles on closed highways. The maximum entropy inverse reinforcement learning (IRL) algorithm for human demonstration learning and the long short-term memory and Bayesian network (LSTM-BN)-based model for target vehicles' driving intentions are applied. Three contributions are made in this work: 1) The LSTM-BN is used to judge the intentions of surrounding vehicles based on its historical information to inform lane-change trajectory planning. 2) Different feature-based cost functions of the IRL algorithm are designed according to different lane-change scenarios, which enhances its adaptability to different scenarios. 3) Segmented-updated trajectory planning is used to dynamically optimize trajectories via an online optimization process, which reduces the model's limitations and improves overall lane-change performance. Finally, simulation experiments demonstrate that the proposed method has strong generalization ability, reliable accuracy, and can adjust lane-change trajectories reasonably according to the driving intentions of surrounding vehicles. This paper presents an enabling comprehensive vehicle stability assessment system covering vehicle longitudinal, yaw and roll stability. First, the longitudinal, lateral and vertical tire forces are separately estimated using the strong tracking unscented Kalman filter and the conventional Kalman filter based on low-cost on-board sensors. Then, a comprehensive vehicle longitudinal, yaw and roll stability space is established by utilizing the normalized tire friction ellipse and the Load Transfer Ratio value. Finally, the vehicle stability is determined and predicted based on current driver's inputs. The hardware-in-loop experimental results show that the proposed vehicle stability assessment system can accurately estimate the longitudinal, lateral and vertical tire forces with the normalized root mean square errors of 1.87 $\%$ , 1.07 $\%$ and 1.43 $\%$ , and exhibits satisfying performance for vehicle longitudinal, yaw and roll stability evaluation and prediction. This paper proposes a Hierarchical Rate Splitting (HRS)-based and Macro Base Station (MBS)-assisted cooperative content delivery scheme for Cache-enabled Cloud Radio Access Networks (C $^{2}$ -RANs). In this scheme, a user is served by a cluster of Small Base Stations (SBSs) that cache contents. If the user-requested content is missing in its cache, the SBS retrieves it from the central processor (backhaul link) and the MBS (wireless broadcast). We minimize the total delay of this system. We thus optimize user grouping, decoding order, RS variables, BS clustering, and beamforming subject to the transmit power and backhaul capacity constraints. This process formulates a non-convex problem, which we decouple into three subproblems. First, we must pair users to reduce intra-group interference. We thus develop a Low-Complexity User Pairing (LCUP) algorithm. Second, we optimize the decoding order to minimize the broadcast link delay. We, therefore, propose a Dynamic Delay-based Decoding Order Update (D $^{3}$ OU) algorithm. Third, we jointly design the RS variables, beamforming, and BS clustering. We use surrogate optimization via the Quadratic Transform (QT), Woodbury matrix identity, and Taylor expansion. We then recast this problem to a Two-Tier Alternating (TTA) problem, which we solve with closed-form (outer tier) and convex (inner tier) formulations. We integrate these algorithms to propose an overall algorithm. It achieves significant performance gains and a 3-fold reduction in time-complexity over the standard Semi-Definite Relaxation (SDR)-based algorithm and several benchmark schemes. An electromagnetic map (EM) can provide movable base stations with information to optimize the communication quality of temporary communication systems in disaster areas, such as areas suffering from earthquakes. In this paper, a low-cost and effective communication optimization system model that uses sensing nodes and EMs is proposed. Moreover, two EM reconstruction methods, which serve as the keys to the model, are proposed to reconstruct EMs to provide information for communication optimization according to different demands. One method is KGA-GAN-SBI, which combines the kriging algorithm, generative adversarial network and split bregman iterations, and the other is APCA-KGA-DPA, which combines the affinity propagation clustering algorithm, kriging algorithm and domain mapping algorithm. The former can satisfy the demand of high-accuracy EMs. The latter can reconstruct an EM faster than KGA-GAN-SBI. The simulation results show that both low-cost methods can reconstruct more accurate EMs than several existing algorithms; they can provide an effective way to optimize the communication quality of temporary communication and fill the gap in the study of EM applications. In complex indoor environments, there is often no Line of Sight (LOS) path between the transmitter and the receiver due to walls, moving people, and many other obstacles. Traditional localization method based on LOS measurement is no longer available which provides lower localization accuracy in Non-Line of Sight (NLOS) environments. In response to this problem, this paper proposes a joint localization algorithm for scatterers and target user based on indoor prior information in NLOS scenarios. The algorithm makes use of the prior localization information of the access point (AP) and the wall to determine the position of the scatterers and target user simultaneously. Since the established constrained optimization problem is non-convex which is a difference of convex (DC) problem, it is transformed into a convex one based on a Taylor series expansion (TSE) method before it is solved. At the same time, as only a single AP signal can be received normally, the proposed method is then extended to the scenario with only one AP. Simulation and real-world testing results both show that not only the proposed method based on multiple APs, but also the method based on a single AP achieve high positioning accuracy, which are better than the existing positioning methods mentioned in this article as well. Radar-embedded communication (REC) is a new type of covert communication whereby communication signals are embedded in radar backscattered echoes. Conventional REC waveform design strategies generally involve transforming the radar sampling sequence into a square matrix that can be eigenvalue decomposed; however, it may lose some original characteristics of the radar signal during this process. In this paper, we propose two REC waveform design methods based on singular value decomposition (SVD), namely, SVD-NDP (non-dominant-processing waveform based on SVD) and SVD-SNDP (shaped-non-dominant-processing waveform based on SVD), and derive the similarities between the radar signal and the proposed waveforms. We then simulate the anti-detection performance, anti-interception performance, and communication reliability of the proposed waveforms and analyze the degrees of freedom and computational complexity of their design. The results show that, compared with conventional REC waveforms, the proposed waveforms could improve communication reliability without sacrificing low probability of intercept (LPI) performance and at least double the design degrees of freedom. SVD-NDP and SVD-SNDP algorithms can reduce computational complexity by more than 30% compared with conventional waveform design algorithms based on eigenvalue decomposition when the number of communication waveforms (symbols) is set to 4 (2 bits), and the proportion of the dominant subspace is set to 50%. Channel estimation is a challenging issue for millimeter wave (mmWave) and massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) in the future sixth generation (6G) wireless systems, where the conventional estimation schemes may fail to track the fast varying channels, especially in high-speed mobile scenarios. In this paper, a novel tensor-based uplink channel estimation scheme is proposed for multi-user MIMO (MU-MIMO) systems over time-varying channels. In the proposed scheme, a low-overhead pilot transmission scheme is designed to track the varying channel. The received uplink signal at the base station (BS) is formulated as a third-order tensor which admits a CANDECOMP/PARAFAC (CP) model. The CP decomposition issue is then solved using blind matrix decomposition, in which the special structures of signals in the time dimension and the matrix subspace are utilized. By exploiting low-rank structure of the signal tensor, the channel parameters (angles of arrival/departure, path gains, and Doppler shifts) are estimated from the factor matrices. Moreover, the proposed scheme is theoretically analyzed and it is guaranteed with low pilot overhead. Simulation results verify that the proposed scheme can outperform the compressed sensing (CS) based scheme and the iteration-based scheme in terms of accuracy and stability. In this paper, we investigate a downlink non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) transmission scheme for hybrid millimeter-wave (mmWave) system and study its user grouping and power allocation. In order to maximize the weighted sum-rate (WSR) of the system, we first propose a user grouping algorithm based on min-sum message passing (MSMP) strategy under the limited number of radio frequency (RF) chains. Then, with the zero-forcing (ZF) digital precoding, we propose a power allocation scheme for multiple-RF-chain NOMA (MRFC-NOMA) structure based on a non-convex transformation method, and design a low-complexity algorithm. The spectrum usage often comes in an online fashion. Considering the selfish behaviors of both primary users(PUs) and sencond users(SUs), we design online double spectrum allocation methods. We propose a truthful online double auction for spectrum allocation. Preempting existing spectrum usage is not allowed. We design a strategyproof mechanism for both the primary user side and the SU side. In previous studies, users who do not interfere with each other have not been reasonably allocated to use channels. There is one and only one user on the used spectrum channel at a certain time, which will result in discarding many user requests. Our model allows multiple users to use a spectrum channel at the same time. Aiming at the shortcomings of previous research, we propose the concept of grouping for online auctions, so that all SUs that do not interfere with each other can use spectrum channels at the same time. This will greatly increase the number of users who use the spectrum at the same time. We thus increase the utilization rate of the user market, and a large number of users will not be idle and abandoned.In the design of our experiments, the grouping model proposed in this paper has obtained at least $43{\%}$ utilization rate on the set channel, and our experiments have obtained good generality for different interference radius. Mobile edge computing (MEC) and millimeter wave (mmWave) communications are capable of significantly reducing the network's delay and enhancing its capacity. In this paper we investigate a mmWave and device-to-device (D2D) assisted MEC system, in which user A carries out some computational tasks and shares the results with user B with the aid of a base station (BS). We assume partial offloading model and the task can be partitioned into two portions: the first part is computed locally at user A, while the second part is transmitted to the BS and computed by the MEC server. The computational results are then sent to user B through a D2D link and via the link from the BS to user B, respectively. To support computation offloading, both the users and the BS are equipped with multiple antennas and employ analog and digital (A/D) hybrid beamforming. Moreover, we propose a novel two-timescale joint hybrid beamforming and task allocation algorithm to reduce the system latency whilst cut down the required signaling overhead. Specifically, the high-dimensional analog beamforming matrices are updated in a frame-based manner based on the channel state information (CSI) samples, where each frame consists of a number of time slots, while the low-dimensional digital beamforming matrices and the offloading ratio are optimized more frequently relied on the low-dimensional effective channel matrices in each time slot. A stochastic successive convex approximation (SSCA) based algorithm is developed to design the long-term analog beamforming matrices. As for the short-term variables, the digital beamforming matrices are optimized relying on the innovative penalty-concave convex procedure (penalty-CCCP) for handling the mmWave non-linear transmit power constraint, and the offloading ratio can be obtained via the derived closed-form solution. In this paper, we investigate security and energy efficiency of multicast communication in cognitive satellite terrestrial networks. To achieve high spectrum efficiency and low interference power transmissions in the cognitive terrestrial network, the rate splitting multiple access scheme (RSMA) is employed to prompt the massive access of the secondary users. In particular, we derive analytical and asymptotic closed-form expressions for secrecy outage probability of the satellite terrestrial network with eavesdropping, interfering, and imperfect channel state information. Hence, a beamforming (BF) scheme based on RSMA for secondary network is proposed to suppress eavesdropping, mitigate interference, and enhance energy efficiency of the proposed system model. Then, we transform non-convex optimization constraints into resoluble problems utilizing Taylor series expansion and successive convex approximation. Massive MIMO is a promising air interface technology for 5G wireless communications. Such antenna systems offer capabilities to utilize channel correlations to create beams suitable for user specific transmissions. Most of the prior research is devoted to user-specific transmission in such systems, where a narrow beam is formed towards a user to improve its reception. Meanwhile, public-channel transmission to multiple users at once by means of broad beams has been understudied. In this paper, we introduce the concept of array-size invariant (ASI) beamforming, enabling generation of broad beams from very large antenna arrays where all elements are transmitting at maximum power. The ASI technique offers the possibility to achieve a perfectly flat array factor by exploiting the additional degree of freedom coming from the dual-polarization beamforming. The proposed technique is applicable to both uniform linear and rectangular arrays. The benefits of the method are shown by means of several numerical examples. In particular, the practical usefulness of the ASI beamforming, in terms of coverage and energy efficiency, is illustrated on an example of designing a cell-specific broad beam for public-channel transmission in a realistic network deployment. With the explosive growth of mobile data, the demand of high-speed railway (HSR) passengers for broadband wireless access services urgently needs the support of ultra-high-speed scenario broadband wireless communication. Millimeter-wave (mmWave) can achieve high data transmission rates, but it is accompanied by high propagation loss and vulnerability to blockage. To address this issue, developments of directional antennas and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) enhance the robustness of the mmWave train-ground communication system. In this paper, we propose a UAV and MRs relay assistance (UMRA) algorithm to effectively overcome link blockage, which can maximize the number of transmission flows on the premise of meeting QoS requirements and channel qualities. First, we formulate a mixed integer nonlinear programming (MINLP) problem for UAV trajectory design and transmission scheduling in the full-duplex (FD) mode. Then, in UMRA, the relay decision algorithm and transmission scheduling algorithm based on graph theory are proposed, which make a good tradeoff between computation complexity and system performance. Extensive simulation results show that a suitable UAV position will greatly improve the performance of the UMRA algorithm and make it close to the optimal solution. Compared with the other two existing benchmark schemes, with the high channel quality requirements and large-area blockage, UMRA can greatly improve the number of completed flows and system throughput. In this paper, we derive an upper bound on load-threshold of coded slotted ALOHA (CSA) for slot erasure channel (SEC) and that for packet erasure channel (PEC), respectively. In SEC, by exploiting the analogy between Gaussian elimination of solving linear equations and the iterative successive interference-cancellation (SIC) decoding procedure of CSA, we derive the upper performance bound for SEC. Subsequently, in PEC, utilizing density evolution to track the average probability of packet-decoded failure within the SIC decoding process, we obtain the upper bound for PEC. Moreover, we propose a numerical search algorithm of these bounds under a given calculating precision. Direction-of-arrival (DOA) information is vital for multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) systems to complete localization and beamforming tasks. Switched antenna arrays have recently emerged as an effective solution to reduce the cost and power consumption of MIMO systems. Switch-based array architectures connect a limited number of radio frequency chains to a subset of the antenna elements forming a subarray. This paper addresses the problem of antenna selection to optimize DOA estimation performance. We first perform a subarray layout alignment process to remove subarrays with identical beampatterns and create a unique subarray set. By using this set, and based on a DOA threshold region performance approximation, we propose two antenna selection algorithms; a greedy algorithm and a deep-learning-based algorithm. The performance of the proposed algorithms is evaluated numerically. The availability of LED-based headlights and taillights makes possible the use of visible light communication (VLC) as a wireless access technology for vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communications. A critical concern to establish a reliable VLC link between two moving vehicles is the number of photodetectors and their locations on the destination vehicle. In this paper, we experimentally investigate the usage of dual photodetectors for a vehicular VLC system with selection combining to enhance signal reception in mobile conditions. We measure the electrical receive signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for each individual photodetector as well as at the output of selection combiner in two different tracks involving straight and curved roads. Through data fitting to experimental data, we obtain a probability density function (PDF) to describe the instantaneous SNR. As millimeter wave (mmWave) technology becomes more integrated into today's communication infrastructure, its application to mobile scenarios has attracted considerable interests. In particular, mmWave technology is one of the leading candidates in Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) community to address the ever-rising data exchange demand from vehicles. However, the inherent directionality of the technology poses challenges to peer discovery and transmission scheduling in typical V2X scenarios, causing significant loss of network capacity. To mitigate this issue, we propose a novel sub-6 GHz V2X-assisted synchronous mmWave communication scheduler in this paper. The sub-6 GHz channel serves as control channel for mmWave scheduling. The scheduler carefully considers data importance and freshness in determining communication schedule, such that network utility across mmWave links is maximized. We formulate the scheduling problem into an integer linear programming (ILP) problem. However, ILP problem is NP-hard and has exponential computational complexity for the worst cases. We then develop a scheduling algorithm, maximum weight matching based iterative algorithm (MWMIA), that operates in polynomial time with performance guarantees for the NP-hard ILP, by leveraging structural properties of link conflicts.
