The aim of this paper is to reflect about the eco-centric organizational forms -especially ecovillage- as a real alternative to the environmental problems, unlike business proposals based on the green economy whose solution to these problem is questionable. To do so, in the first section presents some eco-centric critiques about the green economy, in order to argue that the enterprises that oriented their practices under the proposals of the green economy are not completely successful to achieve sustainable development. In the second section, after a briefly discussion about the meaning of organizational forms, the paper pose evidence of organizational forms that have been operationalized under principles promoted by eco-centrism. In the third section, the case of ecovillage is analyzed as an organizational form whose characteristics are difficult to reach by enterprises stand on the green growth and a chrematistics bases. Finally, some reflections are established. Thus, the relevance of this work is that, under an organizational approach, its provide elements of reflections to show that ecovillage are more appropriate organizational forms than those of entrepreneurial type to deal with environmental problems. ECONOMIC development , *SUSTAINABLE development , *TECHNOLOGICAL innovations , *INDUSTRIAL ecology , *RENEWABLE energy sources - Abstract
Given the current environmental problems such as climate change, it is urgent to move towards a new technological and production pattern that allow economic growth and care for the environment to be compatible with each other. Different economic growth models have addressed the relationship between this and technical change, however, they have given little importance to the environment. For this reason, the objective of the current paper is to perform an exploratory and descriptive analysis of the role of technological change as a determinant of economic growth from the Solow (1957) and Kaldor & Mirrlees (1962) models, as well as to raise the need to move towards more sustainable growth models based on a new technological pattern and more efficient forms of production that guarantees a green economy, some principles of Industrial Ecology and the intensive use of renewable energy, sustainability. In the theoretical part, are analyzed the linking society organizations; different expectations among all actor; we analyzed too, concepts such as norms, values and environmental obligations. The investigation in particular analyzes the behavior of organizational indicators of a banking group. Four dimensions are reviewed: economic, social, human, environmental and it concludes that the economic dimension it has been prioritized the detriment of the other three. In this sense, it is common practice in the banking sector to punish the saving with low real interest rates below the inflation and the collection of high rates for the loans. The specific banking group that analyzes itself does not escape of this rational vision. Finally the paper considers that the importance of organizational values in the banking sector have a social impact and is necessary to continue analyzing it. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

RISK management of financial institutions , *SOCIAL finance , *MICROFINANCE , *SUSTAINABLE development , *PORTFOLIO diversification - Abstract
Microfinances in Mexico are relatively young and in practice have discovered the error of some of its policies and procedures to prevent risks. The aim of this paper is to analyze the types of risk that microfinance institutions perceive and the solutions have been proposed to address them (internal instantiation, establishment of control mechanisms and monitoring, use of various tools for risk control). Establish a comprehensive management of risk is essential to its sustainability in the long term and one of its biggest challenges today. However, it is concluded that risk diversification is a fundamental mechanism not only for preventing or reducing risk but as a strategy for increased coverage of financial services that affects financial inclusion and improves the living conditions of the people they seek to serve. The aim of this paper is to analyze how the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) has integrated the paradigm of sustainability into their work. To achieve this goal, an empirical analysis was performed starting with a characterization of what should be and what actually is in this company, through the review of four basic documents: the Institutional Strategic Plan for Sustainable Development (PEIDES), SENER Annual Report, Sustainability Report 2008 and the Report on Progress of the Ten Principles of the World Agreement 2011. A reflection about the balance between the company's what should be and what actually is was then made based on the Three Pillars of Sustainability framework: environment, economy and society, as well as on general principles of this concept. Finally, some challenges and paths were identified which CFE will have to face and follow in order to move towards a more desirable state in its work as a company that declares sustainability as the backbone of its action. SOCIAL responsibility of business , *SUSTAINABLE development , *BUSINESS ethics , *BUSINESS & the environment , *CONCEPTUAL models - Abstract
The corporate social responsibility (CSR) is one of the paths companies use to contribute to get a sustainable development. The CSR researches have proposed different conceptual models to evaluate the companies' performance in this field. This paper presents the results of applying the Corporate Citizenship Model of the Boston College to two different size companies to be able to compare their corporate citizenship advances. The stated hypothesis is that the size of a company does not determinate the adoption of the corporate citizenship philosophy and strategy practices because what matter to succeed is that the directive board is convinced, compromised and communicate it along the company.
