EDITOR'S SUMMARY ASIS&T SIG/MET held the METRICS 2016 workshop on October 14, 2016, in Copenhagen, Denmark. Topics covered during the workshop include informetrics, information retrieval, bibliometrics and scientometrics, especially as they apply to evaluation of individuals and scholarly work. Nine presentations were given at the full-day workshop, as well as seven posters, three of which were open posters. The end of the event included presentation of the Best Student Paper award, a staple in the METRICS workshop, and the prize winners were invited to discuss their papers at the event. Information about several papers discussed in the annual membership meeting of the Guitar and Accessories Marketing Association (GAMA) held in the 2017 National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) show is presented. Topics discussed include the Teaching Guitar Workshops (TG) program, common obstacles and weaknesses of the guitar sector, inventory and sales management and the engagement of school music teacher in guitar instruction.

Information about several papers discussed at the Annual Meeting of the U.S Transportation Research Board (TRB) held at the Marriott Wardman Park in Washington, D.C. in 2014 is presented. Topics include challenges and opportunities for states, sessions and workshops, and reports that addressed topics in planning, environment, and materials. The meeting featured several TRB officials including Kirk Steudle, Robert E. Skinner Jr., and Daniel Sperling.

Information about several papers discussed at the fall workshop of the Viola da Gamba Society-New England (VdGS-NE) held at Brandeis University on November 7, 2015, is presented. Topics discussed include the Dutch revolt against the ruling Spanish Hapsburg dynasty. The workshop was hosted by Anne Legêne and Karen Burciaga. It also discusses the winter workshop of VdGS-NE held on January 23, 2016 at the Hancock Church in Lexington, Massachusetts.
