The objective is to analyze how the founding text and regulations of the Buenos Aires Public Library challenged users and what the public's reaction was once the institution opened its doors. Therefore, we traced the tension between a library paradigm that appealed to the promotion of knowledge and the public good as an institutional objective and the demands of users due to the restricted library hours. From the history of printed culture, the representations of reading and the sociability of the reader when reading the correspondence between Bernardino Rivadavia and Luis José de Chorroarín, the regulations of the Buenos Aires Public Library and the Buenos Aires newspapers were analyzed. It was concluded that the refusal to extend the opening hours to the public conspired with the access to the library of the employees. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper analyses all psychology journals included in the different categories of the JCR (SCI and SSCI) and SJR databases during the period 2014-2016 in order to identify the journals that are better positioned in the discipline, and the specialities and countries with the highest number of publications indexed in such databases. Method: The distribution of psychology journals by country, quartile, and subject category was studied in order to determine the total number and position of journals in each country, and to identify the countries with more journals of 'excellence' in psychology in the international scene. Results: The United States and the United Kingdom had the highest number of journals included in the databases, as well as the Netherlands, Germany, France and Spain. Only 11 countries have psychology journals in quartile 1 in JCR, and 14 in SJR databases. Conclusions: As a result of the application of new evaluation criteria in psychology research in Spain, the paper addresses the difficulties and consequences that some of these measures may have for the survival of psychology journals that do not have a position in quartile 1 or 2 in the databases used for the evaluation of professionals' research in this discipline. INTRODUCTION. This paper reports on the digital practices of 18 high school students' when taking notes with the text processor Word about the characteristics of on-line dictionaries--Spanish and English monolingual dictionaries and English-Spanish and Spanish-English bilingual dictionaries. The students explored the dictionaries and, in order to get familiar with them, they worked with the English verb get. The approach implemented refers to literacy in digital textuality. METHOD. The study contemplates the identification of multimedia resources and textual modalities in the dictionaries and the description of digital writing in the notes. Classification and textual analysis involves the informativity criteria identified in the dictionaries: language use, digital searches, textual designs, intertextuality sources, coherence and interactivity, as well as digital cohesion in descriptive and expositive writing, intertextuality by means of images, hyper links and lexical and graphic references. RESULTS. The notes show a predominant use of practical tools in the dictionaries in comparison to coherence and interactivity. They also evidence difficulties to integrate expositive and descriptive writing with digital modalities of intertextuality, hypertextuality and referentiality. DISCUSSION. Consideration and identification of various aspects of textuality in dictionaries show various degrees of intentionality and performance through digital and multimodal resources. However, teaching and practice support is necessary to fully appreciate the information, as well as the digital writing in notes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
This paper studies introduction and conclusion sections of papers produced by Spanish PhD Students in an academic writing workshop. Based on Swales's CARS model, the aim is to analyze the movements, steps, and substeps accomplished in the construction of the introduction (Carbonell-Olivares, Gil-Salom, y Soler- Monreal, 2009) and concluding sections (Yag y Alison, 2003). With regard to introductions, results of the study confirm, in line with previous studies, that movement 1 (M1) and 3 (M3) are considered compulsory by Spanish writers. Moreover, participants consider more important to establish the topic of the research than highlighting the significance and originality of the work. In the case of the conclusions, there is a presence of the three prototypical sections (M1-M2-M3). Nevertheless, the main focus in on the summary (M1) and the evaluation of the results (M2). Background: This paper presents the new Mentallypro Scale for the Assessment of Exposure to Psychological Risk Factors in the Work Environment. Its appearance comes to solve some of the limitations of the current scales that either do not present updated scales or have mismatches to the current work environment. Method: 6881 workers distributed in 11 different sectors of activity completed the final scale, obtained after a test scale. The final scale consists of 56 ipsative items presented in blocks of four, so that the respondent can order them based on their highest to lowest identification with the item's content. The items define 14 factors and standardized scores have been obtained for each factor and sector of activity based on the distribution of Intellectual Quotients (IQ) [μ = 100 and σ = 15]. Results: All the psychometric indicators show a high degree of validity and reliability. Additionally, scores have been corrected for Age and Gender to remove the item differential effect. Conclusions: The scale presented meets the psychometric requirements and resolves the limitations of other scales in terms of ease, speed, and utility in the work environment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

EDUCATIONAL attainment , *ACQUISITION of data , *ORGANIZATION - Abstract
The Region of Murcia has a broad and well-distributed educational structure. However, the information published to this end in the main national and regional statistical portals is archaic and has not been updated during the last five years. This fact urgently demands a revision and modernisation of the data from the educational centres. Against this background, this paper aims to provide a report on the current state of the educational structure of the Region of Murcia, providing a more detailed view including the organisation of educational centres in different categories and their cartographic representation. Similarly, the characteristics, educational levels, and services offered by each centre are analysed, with the aim of estimating whether the ranking of affinity and recommendation of the best educational centres in the Region of Murcia produced by the "Micole" portal is representative or, on the contrary, data were collected subjectively and therefore they do not correspond to the services offered by each centre. The results obtained show that during the period of time in which no academic data have been published, the Region of Murcia has considerably increased the number of educational centres (71). Most of these are state-funded and provide General Regime education. As for the veracity of the "Micole" survey, it can be established that the centres analysed in this portal show better characteristics and services than other schools in the Region of Murcia. Higher education can be hugely transformative for students and has an important role in empowering human capital, innovation, and society's social, cultural, and environmental development. The expansion of higher education has promoted access for a more heterogeneous mix of students, but ensuring access does not guarantee academic success. This paper aims to analyse predictors of academic achievement in 447 first-year students in their 1st and 2nd semesters, considering variables including sex, age, parents' educational level and grades on entering higher education, along with levels of students' academic engagement and self-efficacy after some weeks at university. Results show statistically significant paths for sex, age, and GPA to 1st-semester achievement, for parent's educational levels to perceived self-efficacy, for students' academic engagement to 1stsemester achievement, and 1st-semester achievement to 2nd-semester achievement. Students' academic engagement also had an indirect effect on the 2nd-semester achievement. The correlation between academic engagement and self-efficacy was positive, strong, and statistically significant. The model explained 35.2% of the variance in 2nd-semester achievement and 15.0% of the variance in 1st-semester achievement. Knowledge about predictors of academic achievement and the importance of engagement and self-efficacy will support timely interventions, promoting success and preventing failure and dropout. This paper presents a study whose objective was to characterize the formative, human, physical and community resources that make up good educational practices for the educational inclusion of students who suffer from a rare disease, as well as to detect the needs experienced by professionals and families regarding these resources. To this end, a cross-sectional and qualitative study was developed in which educational and health professionals, families and students with this type of pathology participated. The results suggest that educational, human, and community resources are considered key, and their orientation should focus on providing teachers with intervention strategies rather than on informing about these diseases. In addition, the existing human and physical resources are valued positively, although the need to expand them is pointed out, especially through the figure of educational technical assistants. Physical resources and materials are considered sufficient, highlighting the role of traditional resources as a complement to ICT. Another central element mentioned by the participants is the coordination and interdisciplinarity involved in addressing the needs of these students. Finally, the implications of these results for the development of inclusive practices are discussed. Besides, the main limitations of the study are presented, as well as futures lines of intervention and research which support the educational and social inclusion of these students. SOCIAL acceptance , *PRIMARY education , *FOCUS groups , *SECONDARY education , *INCLUSIVE education - Abstract
This paper analyzes the relationships and internal organization of the different sec- tors of the educational community in Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary Education centers in different Autonomous Communities, where good inclusive practices are developed with students who live with a rare, infrequent and unknown disease. It is a multiple case study conducted through qualitative research using different instruments: group, individual and focus group interviews to collect the voices of teachers, students, and families to analyze the inclusive practices developed in the participating centers. The results show that the relationships that are created between the members of the educational community are satisfactory for the students, and are experienced by professionals and families as something fundamental and beneficial for the entire center. However, greater support is still expected from other agents and external institutions for the acceptance of these students in the social sphere and to facilitate the inclusive responses that they deserve. FAMILY-school relationships , *RARE diseases , *COMMUNITY-school relationships , *ACHIEVEMENT gains (Education) , *COMMUNITY relations - Abstract
This paper analyses the relationship between community actors and the mobilization of environmental resources as factors operating in favor of the socio-educational inclusion of students with rare diseases. The research questions that guide our study are: what are the key factors favoring collaborative relationships between schools enrolling students with rare diseases (RDD) and their communities and systems?; what community resources contribute to the inclusion of students with RDD?; what are the key factors favoring the inclusion of students with RDD?; and what are the key factors contributing to the inclusion of students with RDD? The methodology follows a descriptive qualitative approach on ten cases developed in several Autonomous Communities. Interviews and focus groups are carried out with teachers, pupils with RDD, families and other educational agents. The results indicate that the opening of schools to the community and the collaboration with professionals from the medical-health, care and educational fields are essential. In many cases, the relationships have been mediated by the families. The optimization of existing resources in a given context implies consolidating a logic of collaboration necessary to articulate inclusive educational responses. In this process, the role played within a specific context by associations of people with rare diseases, guidance teams and the initiatives that schools have implemented to reduce and/ or eliminate barriers that hinder or limit the presence, participation and progress of these students at school are also decisive. The study concludes that there is still much room for improvement in community relations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

INCLUSIVE education , *SCHOOL involvement , *EDUCATIONAL quality , *RARE diseases , *CLASSROOM management - Abstract
Inclusive good practices are successful actions or experiences that can be replicated to ensure educational quality for all. However, there is a paucity of data that identify what characteristics these practices should include to support students within an inclusive educational centre. This paper presents the meaning of good inclusive educational practices with special attention to students affected by rare diseases. The aim is to identify and characterise good practices within the framework of an inclusive school. A qualitative methodology is used and, as by drawing on different case studies from eight autonomous regions, we look at how participants conceptualise inclusive practices in general, and students with rare diseases in particular. The results highlight the complexity and heterogeneity of the concept of good practices, the involvement of schools when it comes to introducing changes in their organisation and functioning, in the supports and in classroom management and methodologies. However, these actions need to be extended to the entire educational system, which implies a profound change in its structure. Also, further work needs to be done to find out what are the best practices for teacher training which promotes inclusive education [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of this paper is to establish which parenting style is associated with optimum outcomes among adolescents of Spanish families considering adolescents with low vs. high self-efficacy. Although classical studies identify the authoritative parenting style (based on warmth and strictness) as the best parental strategy, emerging research seriously questions the benefits of parental strictness. Additionally, the impact of parenting on the adolescent’s psychosocial competence has been studied for years, but less is known about whether it might vary depending on individual characteristics of the adolescent (e.g., self-efficacy). Participants were 1029 Spanish adolescents, 453 males (44%), aged 12-17 years. Families were classified in one of the parenting styles groups (authoritative, authoritarian, indulgent, or neglectful), and adolescents were grouped by low vs. high self-efficacy. Adolescent psychosocial competence was examined through emotional and academic self-concept, psychological maladjustment (hostility/aggression, negative self-esteem, emotional responsivity, instability, and negative view of the world), and academic performance (grade point average and number of failing grades). Main and interaction effects of parenting style and adolescent self-efficacy were tested. Main effect results indicated that adolescents with low self-efficacy were always associated with the worst psychosocial competence. Consistently, the main effect findings indicated that adolescents from indulgent and authoritative families were associated with better results than those from neglectful and authoritarian families. However, the indulgent parenting style yielded the best results. The impact of parenting might not be the same for adolescents in all cultural contexts. Contrary to findings from classical studies, parental strictness seems to be unnecessary or even detrimental for adolescents with low and high self-efficacy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of this paper is to analyse the reading and writing achievement of Spanish school children following an intervention conducted at an early age. The purpose of the intervention is to prioritise and systematise instruction in the alphabetic principles, phonological awareness, reading fluency, vocabulary, and text comprehension. The sample consists of 126 subjects, distributed between an instructed group (n=62) and an uninstructed group (n = 64). All the subjects were from average socio-cultural areas, with normal intelligence and with no physical, mental, and/or sensory deficits. Subjects were evaluated from the second year of Early Years Education (4 years of age) up to the first year of Primary Education (six years of age). The design was longitudinal with repeated measurements (four assessments), three intervention phases, two study variables (reading achievement and writing achievement), and two groups of subjects. Descriptive statistical analysis and repeated measures analyses of variance were performed. The results obtained indicate higher scores in reading and writing throughout all the assessments and significantly greater progress in the instructed group. These results demonstrate the effectiveness of early intervention in written language through systematic instruction in phonological awareness, the alphabetic principles, reading fluency, vocabulary, and text comprehension. In the early eighteenth century, the mining town of Zimapán went through a social and economic crisis, as a result of frequent clashes with nearby Chichimeca groups. Conflicts went aggravated because of the oppression that society practiced against these Indians. When the region was pacified, Spanish miners had to solve how to reactivate the process for extracting silver from ore. In fact, some of them looked up how to reach an hegemonic position, in spite of their production was far from those of main mining centers. The paper focuses on the capacities of these producers, under an adverse situation. From the use of accounting records of Caja Real of Zimapán and several legal disputes, here are shown different ways through which these miners overcome their colleagues and achieve preeminent positions and, on the other side, how can be understood the situation of limited resources miners. Since the formation of the Research Group for the Study of Mining in Northwest Argentina (GEMINOA) a decade ago, we have been carrying out an interdisciplinary research that aims to address the mining activities developed in this region in the long-term. This paper synthesizes and expands our original depiction of colonial mining in the region, focusing on the jurisdictions of Jujuy, Salta, Catamarca, and La Rioja during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. With this aim in mind, it combines historical sources and archaeological data (from our own work or specialized literature). Moreover, it reflects on the concepts of hegemonic and non-hegemonic mining, considering the variables that defined them and their suitability for characterizing the colonial mining developed in the region. For decades, coastal destinations have been facing the need to renew their traditional tourism models, marked by high seasonality and spatial exploitation, the latter justified by the development of accommodation for second homes. The current tourism scenario offers different challenges and opportunities, which can help to modify these tourism models. In this context, the increase in life expectancy and the generalization of the development of healthy lifestyles makes it possible for new tourism models, such as health and wellness tourism, to develop as potential drivers of change. The main objective of this paper is to understand the potential of health and wellness tourism to qualify and diversify coastal tourist destinations, as well as to analyse the recent evolution of coastal tourism and its current problems. Qualitative methods based on the review of related literature, analysis of the content of the plans and the SWOT matrix, as well as the case study of a specific destination are used for this purpose. This paper analyzes the importance of the historical, cultural, naval, industrial, architectural and tourist heritage of the legacy that the Enlightenment left in the city of Cartagena. It was the starting point for the implementation of new port and military functions, and it definitely marked the city. This contrasts with the lack of awareness on the part of the authorities and the citizens regarding the identity of this heritage complex. A serious touristic proposal is needed in order to project it in all its value and potential, which has similar precedents in what has been done in other cities with similar characteristics, such as Cádiz or Ferrol. The cities expansion as a territory anthropization implies impacts in the land use dynamics. This occurs through the interaction of affected natural and semi-natural systems and can be detected in the substitution of land cover. The space in which it intensifies is the interface. A complex construction of the interface concept will serve to identify variables of high intensity of interaction involving territorial impact. The objective of this work was the critical review of research that enabled identification of such variables for their spatialization. A total of 68 papers, produced since the industrial revolution, were reviewed using 3 approaches: urban, rural and natural. The systematization was carried out through statistical software that determined common elements and relationships between definitions. The results indicated that most of the current theories come from American countries and India, and that the European papers were published 10-15 years earlier than these. The greatest amount of production on interface analysis is still associated with Urbanism. Furthermore, relevant variables were highlighted that located the phenomenon between the urban and regional scales from the territorial approach. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Phis paper examined the robustness of the generalized linear mixed model (GLMM). The GLMM estimates fixed and random effects, and it is especially useful when the dependent variable is binary. It is also useful when the dependent variable involves repeated measures, since it can model correlation. The present study used Monte (Sarlo simulation to analyze the empirical Type I error rates of GLMMs in split-plot designs. The variables manipulated were sample size, group size, number of repeated measures, and correlation between repeated measures. Extreme conditions were also considered, including small samples, unbalanced groups, and different correlation in each group (pairing between group size and correlation between repeated measures). For balanced groups, the results showed that the group effect was robust under all conditions, while for unbalanced groups the effect tended to be conservative with positive pairing and liberal with negative pairing. Regarding time and interaction effects, the results showed, for both balanced and unbalanced groups, that: (a) The test was robust with low correlation (.2), but conservative for medium values of correlation (.4 and .6), and (b) the test tended to be conservative for positive and negative pairing, especially the latter. ADOLESCENT psychology , *EXPECTATION (Psychology) , *PSYCHOLOGICAL adaptation , *REGRESSION analysis , *SOCIAL adjustment , *STRUCTURAL equation modeling , *LIFE satisfaction , *SOCIAL support - Abstract
This paper analyzes adolescents' future expectations (FE) and their relationship with personal variables (age, sex, self-esteem, and life satisfaction) and contextual variables (perceived social support and level of risk). The sample includes 748 adolescents, aged 9-16 (Af = 11.93, SD = 1.42), coming from contexts with different levels of social risk. The results show that FE decrease as age increases, with few differences found based on sex. More positive self-perceptions and perceived social support are associated with better FE. Concerning the level of risk, more vulnerable contexts have a higher negative effect on FE. The regression analysis reveals the predictive capacity of the studied variables. The structural equation model confirms the positive causal effect of psychological adjustment and perceived social support, as well as the negative influence of contexts with greater social disadvantages on adolescent FE. The results suggest the need to establish preventive programs aimed at promoting personal resources of children, especially those who come from vulnerable contexts. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The general opinion about Chinese students of Spanish is openly negative, since, due to their characteristics, it is very difficult for teachers to involve them in the practices of current participatory methodologies. In this paper we present the result of our research on the reality of this student based on the review of a important bibliography, as well as the data obtained from a case study. As can be seen, without dismissing that general opinion about these students, we do show that these characteristics are neither immovable nor do they have to be seen as negative, but quite the opposite, since they give rise to a student with an enormous capacity for effort and eager to know new educational practices, something that we can take advantage of using an eclectic method that combines methodologies. In order to verify these appraisals, we carried out a case study with which we wanted to know the impression of a group of students about our proposal and that we present in this paper with the aim of showing the myths and truths around this student and that we hope will be to help teachers of Spanish as a foreign language who meet them in their classrooms. The aim of this paper is to analyse a corpus of 137 texts published between 1888 and 1899. These texts are included in one of the most successful Spanish-language newspapers published in the United States during the second half of the nineteenth century: Las Novedades (New York, 1876-1918). In the analysis I will determine the linguistic ideologies and the discursive strategies used for the promotion of Hispanism and Spanish language in a sociopolitical context in which the Spanish hegemony was losing all its power at an international level. Thus, the ideologies found are divided in two different categories: the linguistic ideologies that give the language a cultural value and the linguistic ideologies that make reference to the economic and commercial value of the language. The results obtained from this analysis will contribute to understand the role of Spanish language in the United States. Furthermore, this paper presents an unpublished corpus of clear historiographic interest that contributes to clarify the panorama of Hispanism in a country like the United States. The implementation of practices to protect miners' health was slowly formalized in Europe beginning from the end of the 19th century. The legal pathway was equally long in all countries, especially in relation to the recognition of companies' liability in the emergence of pathologies related to workplace morbidity. As there were no precise regulations and no medical agreement on the interpretation of certain diseases, health in the mine remained an ambiguous matter for mining companies, especially in relation with psycho-physical selection of workers and qualification of labour. In the interwar period, the problem of occupational health in the mines became more urgent, worsened by the introduction of scientific management and new extractive technologies. As showed by Paul André Rosenthal, silicosis became and it's still today a global problem, both geographically and conceptually. In this paper we focus on the case of Italian mines of Pertusola, the Italian subsidiary of the greater group Peñarroya, which became one of the biggest European mining and metallurgical corporations in the first part of the 20th century. At the crossroads between the value of health and that of performance at work, a space was opened for the development of practices, tools, measures, and techniques to act on both performance and occupational health, via the materiality of the human body. By the analysis of the firm strategy and initiatives, this paper aims at clarifying the transformation of occupational health in a managerial issue. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper analyzes different strategies that can be applied when upgrading a digital repository from DSpace 6 or earlier to DSpace 7. An analysis of this software is made, with emphasis on the architectural and functional changes of the different versions. Then, it is described the experience obtained from the upgrade to DSpace 7 of the CIC DIGITAL repository, detailing the path followed through the process and highlighting the conflicts that arose during this process, related to the upgrade of the source code and the software platform as well as to the migration of data to the new schema proposed by DSpace 7. Finally, it is reflected on the different strategies of adoption of this software for the different scenarios in which a digital repository that intends to face a migration of similar characteristics may find itself. - Abstract
Metadata is a precise focus of academic research and professional practice within the disciplines of information, documentation and librarianship. This article is an exploration of its conceptualisation. It introduces the subject from a high-level perspective and discusses the main research problems and applied challenges. The paper discusses the different conceptions of its meaning, origin and evolution as a topic within the field of data and information, as well as identifying the essential characteristics. Metadata can be understood as both a process and a product, being the result of both human action and automated processes. Because of the central role they assume today as a support for knowledge - they embody evidence - it is necessary for researchers and practitioners in the field to reflect critically on what our practices are with them and the systems in which these elements are embedded. Background: The identification of the reasons for marijuana use has been supported by instruments such as the MMM. Despite its importance, there are still no valid brief versions of this instrument in Latin American countries. This paper seeks to fill this gap by providing evidence of validity and reliability, as well as the structural invariance of the MMM. Method: The sample consisted of 1164 male and female marijuana users, aged between 18 and 49 years, from Lima and Callao. Results: The factor analysis found a penta-factorial structure. The brief version (MMM-Pl5) and the wide MMM showed favorable properties from structure and reliability (G) > .88, H > .84) with appropriate indicators of the short instrument adjustment (RMSEA = .058 [CI 90% .050, .067], SRMR = .044, TLI -- .99, CIT = .99). Likewise, both versions maintain the invariance of the instrument according to sex and evidence of internal validity was found (AVE > .50). Aside from bringing evidence of validity with other constructs like CAST and SWI--S scale. Conclusions: The MMM-P15 shows psychometric properties that support its use in both male and female marijuana users, and it is a short, versatile, and useful instrument for research purposes even in clinical settings. The unmet energy needs of households and the transition to clean energy, are challenges addressed in the Sustainable Development Goals; in particular, goal seven which aims to achieve affordable and clean energy. Subsequently, the objective of this paper is to evaluate the use of the autonomous photovoltaic system with solar tracking [APSST] in a household with energy poverty in the community of Tecaxic, Toluca, State of Mexico. The methodology made use of a structured questionnaire to assess the existence of energy vulnerability or energy poverty, and was applied to a sample of 86 people. One of these households was chosen to implement the APSST. The results show that the ability of households to meet their energy needs was mainly affected by the pandemic, during which 63 increased their energy consumption, and 53 had delays in electricity payments to CFE, and in water payments; 100% of households before and during the pandemic did not have thermal comfort. In the case of the selected household, following the installation of the APSST, its energy needs were satisfied. It was concluded that the APSST is a solution to energy poverty in the rural community of Tecaxic. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

As it s well known, currently lithium is considered as a key metal to ensure the post-fossil energetic transition, electromobility, and the "green" economy. In the Argentinean state's and capital's narrative, its exploitation appears as a new ElDorado, capable of invigorating the labourt markets at national, regional and local scale. On the basis on official statistics and reports, scholar bibliography, corporative reports and journalistic information, this paper contrast the hegemonic discourse (the myth) and the objective material conditions (the reality) of the lithium mining in Argentina (i.e. the fourth major producer and exporter of such mineral) by using key dimensions of the labour markets, such as the direct and undirect employment levels, the geographical origin of the workforce recruited, the labour conditions, and the wages matter. The findings refute the "trickle down-effect" spread by both the corporations and the political elites, demonstrating that the export boom of such activity results in scarce and precarious employment, while the relatively high wages of this sector have not reversed the low average incomes of the provinces involved. In this paper, based on the analysis of specific events in which the lieutenant treasurer of San Miguel de Tucumán, Manuel Antonio Pereyra was involved, we intend to investigate the conflictive relationship of this treasury official with other government agencies and members of the army during the revolutionary process and how he adapted to the new context. We ask what interests, perceptions and support he may have had about May's events, the war, and his expectations of an open ending. The aim is to analyze the behaviour of this crown' representant in the face of the unprecedented events of May to understand how the members of the Treasury reacted to the process and what place they had to occupy. This paper analyzes music festivals as a territorial structuring tool as part of a larger reflection on the resilience of territories highly dependent on tourism. The results obtained from our study on the Empordà (Costa Brava), through in-depth interviews and a system of quantitative indicators, confirm that these cultural tourism products function as microclusters, creating and reinforcing stable relationships between local actors. When they become one more product in a multifunctional territory, they can contribute to making destinations and territories more resilient. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The numerous ways in which fiction intertwins with reality is one of the cardinals points in Javier Marías' literary work. Precisely, the purpose of this paper is to study this face of Javier Marías' work based on Todas las almas and Negra espalda del tiempo, especifically, since the making of the latter steamed from the reception of the former. Regarding that matter, the suspicion towards the nineteenth-century realism that appears in Negra espalda del tiempo will also be analyzed, while the connection with Juan Benet's theory of the novel will also be addressed, therefore there will also appear a first outline of a theory of novel by Javier Marias, in which the notion of style linked to thought plays a central role. Through a textual analysis, we reflect on her conceptions of the relationship between language and identity, the weight of tradition as inheritance and the woman or lesbian identity as a key to understand the resignification of tradition. Three thematic examples of reception will be addressed: the topics of love, the theme of the journey and the founding myth or the genesis of sex. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper analyzes the poetic of Valeria Luiselli's Los niños perdidos. The text, which is subtitled «Un ensayo en treinta preguntas», is actually a hybrid form made of essay and fiction. Three elements are key to its structure: the voice of the narrator, a series of questions from an immigration questionnaire, and the different answers that the «niños perdidos» offer to it. In addition, due to its hybrid layout, the mobile development of its writng and its presentation of the political refugee crisis as an intersection of statements, Los niños perdidos can be understood as a reflection of the Postmodern thought that that signals the delegitimization of metanarratives. The paper analyses the role that mineral objects and stones, described in medieval sources as votive offerings, play in the construction of a significant world. To do this, it evaluates the relationship that they establish, in the miraculous context, with the devotees, which configures them in a rank of entity equivalent or superior to that of the properly human due to the purpose and the way in which each actant uses them, and especially by the sensory aspect that defines such contacts allowing us to recognize specific characteristics of a sensorium that we qualify as devotional. In this paper, our goal is to analyze the role that the Basque skippers played in one of the most critical decades that medieval Barcelona experienced: the years of the Civil War (1462-1472). In addition, due to the fact that the port records aren't preserved for this decade, we have explored the advantages of combining both sources (insurances and ancoratge) conserved in the 1440-1443 period, in order to analyze their movements throughout several months. In this context, Barcelona's trade witnesses the presence of foreign skippers like the Basques, which allows us to pose several questions about their role and routes. To answer these questions, we count on sources such as the maritime insurances of Barcelona's notaries: they report us on the recurring ports of these ships --mainly those of the western part of the Mediterranean-- and which products they distributed, like wool, salt or wheat. The objective of this research is to analyse the evolution of scientific collaboration within Spanish psychology through papers signed by an author who belonged to a Spanish institution of psychology between 1970 and 1989. We analysed a total of 2891 papers published in 29 journals of psychology between 1970 and 1989, examining the scientific collaboration through network analysis, using the UCINET program and Netdraw software. The results indicated that there has been an increased number of papers, authors and signatures over the years, as well as an increased scientific collaboration. Between 1985 and 1989, co-authored papers overcame single-author papers. It is shown that the number of authors, as well as of collaboration groups, increased over the years under study. It can be concluded that it was in the second half of the 1980s when scientific collaboration within Spanish psychology increased considerably. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper presents the results of the initial phase (O1) of the European Project LSP Teacher Training Summer School (TRAILs), made up of eight partners: teachers of Languages for Specific Purposes (LSP) from seven European Universities and a British consultancy firm specialized in the quality of education research (Arcola). The main objective of the project is the training of LSP teachers and the development of skills to promote an innovative and high-quality teaching, based on the identified gaps and the existing dysfunctions between the training required by these teachers and the actual offering of courses. This paper identifies and analyses the training courses for LSP teachers offered in countries from the European Higher Education Area, with special emphasis in Spain. A standardized questionnaire was designed to gather the information available in the training programs of more than 1000 higher education institutions and universities in 25 countries. The results show that the offer is quite scarce and very eclectic and heterogeneous regarding formats, teaching methodology, learning outcomes and evaluation methods. These results reinforce the need to create the standard European pilot program for teacher training in LSP that emerged from this project. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Egodocuments are an excellent documentary type for the study of social and linguistic history. As they are not subject to mediation, correction, or interference by a secondary author, they are texts in which the author expresses his or her feelings just setting the pen to paper. On the other hand, as their execution is focused on immediate communication, their dissemination is not considered, so they lack the filters of social or formal conventions. The aim of this research is to show the importance of considering egodocuments as a valuable material for the reconstruction of identity and the role played by the popular classes in Cuba, concentrating on the decades before Independence, in those accurate moments when the social and linguistic identity of a new nation was being formed.
