Abstract: Background and Aim: The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of hepatitis B virus (HBV) S gene integration on serum hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) levels in chronic hepatitis B with long‐term nucleos(t)ide analogue (NUC) therapy. Methods: Chronic hepatitis B patients who performed liver biopsy at baseline and treated with long‐term NUC therapy were recruited. The integration of HBV S gene in baseline liver biopsy specimen was detected by Alu polymerase chain reaction method. Serum HBsAg levels were measured at baseline and the second year and the fourth year after NUC therapy by Roche reagent, respectively. Serum HBsAg levels between HBV S gene integrated group and nonintegrated group were compared and analyzed. Results: Seventy patients were eligible for this study. Among them, 11 (15.7%) were found to have HBV S gene integration in their baseline liver biopsy specimens. Similar significant decrease of HBsAg levels was found in both integrated and nonintegrated groups (2.63 vs 2.65 log IU/mL, P = 0.478) after the first 2 years of NUC therapy. Thereafter, the decrease of HBsAg level from 2 to 4 years after therapy was largely unchanged in integrated group as compared with that of nonintegrated group (0.1 vs 2.53 log IU/mL, P = 0.002), with statistical difference. Conclusions: Serum HBsAg could be originated from the expression of the integrated HBV S gene in patients with S gene integration, which implicated the limitations when regarding HBsAg as a surrogate biomarker of covalently closed circular DNA activity and as an indicator of safe NUC discontinuation. We introduce a “solution‐processing‐transformation” strategy, deploying solvent vapor as scaffolds, to fabricate high‐quality hydrogen‐bonded organic framework (HOF) membranes. This strategy can overcome the mismatch in processing conditions and crystal growth thermodynamics faced during the facile solution processing of the membrane. The procedure includes the vapor‐trigged in situ transformation of dense amorphous supramolecules to crystalline HOF‐16, with HOF‐11 as the transient state. The mechanism involves a vapor‐activated dissolution‐precipitation equilibrium shifting and hydrogen bonding‐guided molecule rearrangement, elucidated through combined experimental and theoretical analysis. Upon removal of the molecular scaffolds, the resulting HOF‐16 membranes showcase significant improvement in hydrogen separation performance over their amorphous counterparts and previously reported HOF membranes. The method's broad applicability is evidenced by successfully extending it to other substrates and HOF structures. This study provides a fundamental understanding of guest‐induced ordered supramolecular assembly and paves the way for the advanced manufacture of high‐performance HOF membranes for gas separation processes. Interface strain significantly affects the band structure and electronic states of metal‐nanocrystal‐2D‐semiconductor heterostructures, impacting system performance. While transmission electron microscopy (TEM) is a powerful tool for studying interface strain, its accuracy may be compromised by sample overlap in high‐resolution images due to the unique nature of the metal‐nanocrystals‐2D‐semiconductors heterostructure. Utilizing digital dark‐field technology, the substrate influence on metal atomic column contrasts is eliminated, improving the accuracy of quantitative analysis in high‐resolution TEM images. Applying this method to investigate Pt on MoS2 surfaces reveals that the heterostructure introduces a tensile strain of ≈3% in Pt nanocrystal. The x‐directional linear strain in Pt nanocrystals has a periodic distribution that matches the semi‐coherent interface between Pt nanocrystals and MoS2, while the remaining strain components localize mainly on edge atomic steps. MXenes, a family of 2D transition metal carbides, are considered promising high‐rate pseudocapacitive materials because of their metallic‐like conductivity and transition metal oxide‐like surfaces. Currently, nearly 50 stoichiometric MXenes have been synthesized. However, only a few MXenes, such as Ti3C2, have shown stable pseudocapacitive charge storage so far. Further improving the inherent pseudocapacitance of MXenes without losing their cyclability remains a challenge. Herein, a mild method is reported to produce highly stable bimetallic solid‐solution MXene Ti2VC2 using a solution of potassium fluoride and hydrochloric acid. The electrochemical properties of resulting multilayered clay‐like and delaminated Ti2VC2 films are investigated, exceeding the performance of typical Ti3C2 in acidic electrolytes. These electrodes deliver up to 2000 F cm−3 and retain more than 90% of their initial capacitance after 20 000 cycles, surpassing most state‐of‐the‐art supercapacitor materials known. The pseudocapacitive charge storage of Ti2VC2 is deeply investigated through in situ and ex situ experimental studies, confirmed the pseudocapacitive mechanism is a combination of hydrated H+ intercalation and surface redox. The construction of interfacial electric field (IEF) in semiconductor heterojunction is of great significance in boosting photocatalytic hydrogen evolution through efficient separation of photogenerated charge‐carriers. However, the exploitation of IEF in type‐I heterojunction has not been proposed for designing photocatalysts. Herein, based on the density functional theory prediction, p‐SnS with different work functions modulated by Sn‐vacancy are compounded with n‐ZnIn2S4 containing S‐vacancy to form type‐I heterojunction. The optimized SnS/ZnIn2S4 photocatalyst without co‐catalysts exhibits an impressive hydrogen evolution rate of 22.75 mmol g−1 h−1, 6.23 times of ZnIn2S4. Systematic investigations reveal that the interfacial Sn‐S bond acts as a transport channel that accelerates the interface charge‐carriers transfer under the promotion of IEF originating from the significant Fermi level difference. A large difference in the surface photovoltage signal of SnS/ZnIn2S4 and ZnIn2S4 is achieved from effective photogenerated charge‐carriers separation by IEF. The new p‐n type‐I scheme of SnS/ZnIn2S4 induced by the interfacial mediation can separate the photogenerated charge‐carriers, and retain the highly reductive electrons of ZnIn2S4 for hydrogen evolution, overcoming the disadvantage of reduction potential decline in the typical type‐I scheme. Understanding the mechanism of nucleation and growth of nanocrystals is crucial for designing and regulating the structure and properties of nanocrystals. However, the process from molecules to nanocrystals remains unclear because of the rapid and complicated dynamics of evolution under reaction conditions. Here, the complete evolution process of solid‐phase chloroplatinic acid during the electron beam irradiation triggered reduction and nucleation of platinum nanocrystals is recorded. Aberration‐corrected environmental transmission electron microscopy is used for direct visualization of the dynamic evolution from H2PtCl6 to Pt nanocrystals at the atomic scale, including the formation and growth of amorphous clusters, crystallization, and growth of clusters, and the ripening of Pt nanocrystals. At the first two stages, there exists a critical size of ≈2.0 nm, which represents the start of crystallization. Crystallization from the center and density fluctuation are observed in the second stage of the crystallization of a few clusters with a size obviously larger than the critical size. The work provides valuable information to understand the kinetics of the early stage of nanocrystal nucleation and crystallization at atomic scale. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Two‐dimensional (2D) materials exhibit unique electronic, optical, magnetic, mechanical, and thermal properties due to their special crystal structure and thus have promising potential in many fields, such as in electronics and optoelectronics. To realize their real applications, especially in integrated devices, the growth of large‐size single crystal is a prerequisite. Up to now, the most feasible way to achieve 2D single crystal growth is the epitaxy: growth of 2D materials of one or more specific orientations with single‐crystal substrate. Only when the 2D domains have the same orientation, they can stitch together seamlessly and single‐crystal 2D films can be obtained. In this view, four different epitaxy modes of 2D materials on various substrates are presented, including van der Waals epitaxy, edge epitaxy, step‐guided epitaxy, and in‐plane epitaxy focusing on the growth of graphene, hexagonal boron nitride (h‐BN), and transition metal dichalcogenide (TMDC). The lattice symmetry relation and the interaction between 2D materials and the substrate are the key factors determining the epitaxy behaviors and thus are systematically discussed. The sieving effect of pores is powerless due to the similar molecular size and kinetic diameter of these molecules. We report a new modification method based on a stable ftw topological Zr‐MOF platform (MOF‐525). Introduction of a cyclopentadiene cobalt functional group led to new ftw‐type MOFs materials (UPC‐612 and UPC‐613), which increase the host‐guest interaction and achieve efficient ethylene purification from the mixture of hydrocarbon gases. The high performance of UPC‐612 and UPC‐613 for C2H2/C2H4/C2H6 separation has been verified by gas sorption isotherms, density functional theory (DFT), and experimentally determined breakthrough curves. This work provides a one‐step separation of the ternary gas mixture and can further serve as a blueprint for the design and construction of function‐oriented porous structures for such applications. Highly uniform dispersed bimetallic Pt3Zn alloy nanocrystals (NCs) with unique geometries are obtained via a facile one‐pot synthesis process by regulating different reductants. To investigate the morphology and composition of the prepared catalysts, the transmission electron microscopy, X‐ray diffraction and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy are utilized. Electrochemical measurements reveal that the Pt3Zn NCs significantly exhibited larger electrochemically active surface areas and excellent catalytic activity towards electro‐oxidation of methanol and ethanol in comparison to the commercial Pt/C. The optimized Pt3Zn (AA) NCs exhibit excellent mass activities in both methanol oxidation reaction (1251.4 mA mgPt−1) and ethanol oxidation reaction (975.7 mA mgPt−1) in acidic media, which are respectively 4.28 times and 3.02 times higher than those of commercial Pt/C. Moreover, the Pt3Zn NCs show a higher stability and better resistance to the COads poisoning. The activity enhancements are attributed to electronic effects and a bifunctional mechanism. Linker desymmetrization has been witnessed as a powerful design strategy for the discovery of highly connected metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) with unprecedented topologies. Herein, we introduce molecular pivot‐hinge installation as a linker desymmetrization strategy to evolve the topology of highly connected rare‐earth (RE) MOFs, where a pivot group is placed in the center of a linker similar to a hinge. By tuning the composition of pivot groups and steric hindrances of the substituents on various linker rotamers, MOFs with various topologies can be obtained. The combination of L‐SO2 with C2v symmetry and 12‐connected RE9 clusters leads to the formation of a fascinating (4,12)‐c dfs new topology. Interestingly, when replacing L‐SO2 with a tetrahedra linker L‐O, the stacking behaviors of RE‐organic layers switch from an eclipsed mode to a staggered stacking mode, leading to the discovery of an intriguing hjz topology. Additionally, the combination of the RE cluster and a linker [(L‐(CH3)6)] with more bulky groups gives rise to a flu topology with a new 8‐c inorganic cluster. The diversity of these RE‐MOFs was further enhanced through post‐synthetic installation of linkers with various functional groups. Functionalization of each linker with acidic and basic units in the mesoporous RE‐based PCN‐905‐SO2 allows for efficient cascade catalytic transformation within the functionalized channels. Abstract: A barium(II) metal‐organic framework (MOF) based on a predesigned amino‐functionalized ligand, namely [Ba2(L)(DMF)(H2O)(NO3)1/3]⋅DMF⋅EtOH⋅2 H2O (UPC‐33) [H3L=4,4′‐((2‐amino‐5‐carboxy‐1,3‐phenylene)bis(ethyne‐2,1‐diyl))dibenzoic acid] has been synthesized. UPC‐33 is a 3‐dimensional 3,18‐connected network with fcu topology with a rare twelve‐nuclear Ba12(COO)18(NO3)2 cluster. UPC‐33 shows permanent porosity and a high adsorption heat of CO2 (49.92 kJ mol−1), which can be used as a platform for selective adsorption of CO2/CH4 (8.09). In addition, UPC‐33 exhibits high separation selectivity for C3 light hydrocarbons with respect to CH4 (228.34, 151.40 for C3H6/CH4, C3H8/CH4 at 273k and 1 bar), as shown by single component gas sorption and selectivity calculations. Due to the existence of −NH2 groups in the channels, UPC‐33 can effectively catalyze Knoevenagel condensation reactions with high yield, and substrate size and electron dependency. Freestanding cathode materials with sandwich-structured characteristic are synthesized for high-performance lithium-sulfur battery. Sulfur is impregnated in nitrogen-doped graphene and constructed as primary active material, which is further welded in the carbon nanotube/nanofibrillated cellulose (CNT/NFC) framework. Interconnected CNT/NFC layers on both sides of active layer are uniquely synthesized to entrap polysulfide species and supply efficient electron transport. The 3D composite network creates a hierarchical architecture with outstanding electrical and mechanical properties. Synergistic effects generated from physical and chemical interaction could effectively alleviate the dissolution and shuttling of the polysulfide ions. Theoretical calculations reveal the hydroxyl functionization exhibits a strong chemical binding with the discharge product (i.e., Li2S). Electrochemical measurements suggest that the rationally designed structure endows the electrode with high specific capacity and excellent rate performance. Specifically, the electrode with high areal sulfur loading of 8.1 mg cm−2 exhibits an areal capacity of ≈8 mA h cm−2 and an ultralow capacity fading of 0.067% per cycle over 1000 discharge/charge cycles at C/2 rate, while the average coulombic efficiency is around 97.3%, indicating good electrochemical reversibility. A highly efficient and selective photocatalyst, UPC-CMP-1 has been successfully synthesized by a Sonogashira-Hagihara coupling reaction between iron(III) 5,10,15,20-tetrakis-(4′-bromophenyl) porphine and 1,4-diethynylbenzene. The scanning electron microscopy shows UPC-CMP-1 possesses a dendrite-like nanostructure. Interestingly, within 120 s, UPC-CMP-1 can decompose 88.3% of Congo red (CR) molecules under visible light irradiation. Furthermore, UPC-CMP-1 exhibits high selectivity to CR over other dyes. An anionic metal-organic framework, H3[(Mn4Cl)3 L8]⋅30 H2O⋅2.5 DMF⋅5 Diox ( UPC-15), was successfully prepared by the reaction of MnCl2 with tris( p-carboxylic acid)tridurylborane (H3 L) under solvothermal conditions. UPC-15 with wide-open pores (∼18.8 Å) is constructed by packing of octahedral and cuboctahedral cages, and exhibits high gas-sorption capabilities. Notably, UPC-15 shows selective adsorption of cationic dyes due to the anion framework. Moreover, the catalytic and magnetic properties were investigated, and UPC-15 can highly catalyze the cyanosilylation of aromatic aldehydes. UPC-15 exhibits the exchange of metal ions from Mn to Cu in a single-crystal-to-single-crystal manner to generate UPC-16, which could not be obtained by the direct solvothermal reaction of CuCl2 and H3 L. UPC-16 exhibits similar properties for gas sorption, dye separation, and catalytic activity. However, the magnetic behaviors for UPC-15 and UPC-16 are distinct due to the metal-specific properties. Three metal organic coordination compounds, namely, {[Cd2(L1)4]2 ·9H2O} n ( 1), {[Zn(L1)2 ·2H2O]2 ·H2O} n ( 2), and [Cu(L2)2] n ( 3), [L1 = 3-chloro-2-(5 H-tetrazol-5-yl)pyridine; L2 = 3-chloropicolinic acid], were hydrothermally synthesized, in which L1 and L2 were synthesized by in situ reactions. X-ray diffraction analyses revealed that the 2D layer of complex 1 is built from a dinuclear CdII second building blocks, whereas complex 2 shows 0D structure, which is built based on two L1 ligands, one zinc ion, and two water molecules. 3 shows a 1D infinite rod-shaped chain. To meet the demand for flexible integrated devices, all-solid-state asymmetric supercapacitors that simultaneously realize energy storage and optoelectronic detection were fabricated by growing Co3O4 nanowires on nickel fibers, thus giving the positive electrode, and employing graphene as both the negative electrode and light-sensitive material. The as-assembled integrated systems were characterized by an improved energy storage, enhanced power density (at least by 1860 % enhanced) by improving the potential window from 0-0.6 V to 0-1.5 V, excellent photoresponse to white light, and superior flexibility of both the fiber-based asymmetric supercapacitor and the photodetector. Through a pillar-ligand extension strategy, a rare breathing behavior in polycatenated 2D→3D nets has been achieved. Three variants exhibit interesting sorption properties that range from non-breathing to breathing behaviors, which is influenced by the angles between the pillars and the single honeycomb layers. The increase in pillar length does not lead to an increase in polycatenation multiplicity, which is controlled by the length of intralayer tripodal carboxylate. It also does not induce obviously expanded interlayer separations but occupies much more the free voids, and as a consequence, a smaller pore volume is obtained. This suggests that in 2D→3D polycatenated bilayer metal-organic frameworks, the porosity is not always enhanced by increasing the length of the interlayer pillars with the intralayer linker remaining unchanged. Based on multielectron conversion reactions, layered transition metal dichalcogenides are considered promising electrode materials for sodium‐ion batteries, but suffer from poor cycling performance and rate capability due to their low intrinsic conductivity and severe volume variations. Here, interlayer‐expanded MoSe2/phosphorus‐doped carbon hybrid nanospheres coated by anatase TiO2 (denoted as MoSe2/P‐C@TiO2) are prepared by a facile hydrolysis reaction, in which TiO2 coating polypyrrole‐phosphomolybdic acid is utilized as a novel precursor followed by a selenization process. Benefiting from synergistic effects of MoSe2, phosphorus‐doped carbon, and TiO2, the hybrid nanospheres manifest unprecedented cycling stability and ultrafast pseudocapacitive sodium storage capability. The MoSe2/P‐C@TiO2 delivers decent reversible capacities of 214 mAh g−1 at 5.0 A g−1 for 8000 cycles, 154 mAh g−1 at 10.0 A g−1 for 10000 cycles, and an exceptional rate capability up to 20.0 A g−1 with a capacity of ≈175 mAh g−1 in a voltage range of 0.5–3.0 V. Coupled with a Na3V2(PO4)3@C cathode, a full cell successfully confirms a reversible capacity of 242.2 mAh g−1 at 0.5 A g−1 for 100 cycles with a coulombic efficiency over 99%. Interlayer‐expanded MoSe2/phosphorus‐doped carbon hybrid nanospheres decorated by anatase TiO2 (MoSe2/P‐C@TiO2) are designed and fabricated using a facile self‐templating strategy. The nanospheres exihibit excellent cycling stability up to 10 000 cycles and exceptional rate capability up to 20 A g−1 as anode materials for sodium‐ion batteries, benefiting from the unique structural and multicompositional features.
